Look no further, Dr. Frantzides is the best you will find. I had been searching for answers for months. I had been to 5 other physicians, with 5 different or wrong diagnoses. My health issues were consuming my life. I had pain and difficulty sitting, driving, and standing. I was unable to clear my bowels. Finally, a friend recommended Dr. Frantzides. I went for my first consult and he was the first doctor to order the appropriate diagnostic testing to determine the exact diagnosis and extent of my medical issues. His degree of knowledge and expertise is truly beyond compare. His level of compassion and professionalism is above and beyond. His office brings medical care to a whole new level. You will never be treated better, I guarantee. I cannot even begin to tell you how completely satisfied I am with the results of my extensive surgery. I feel like a new person. To think that he can accomplish the kinds of surgeries he does with his minimally invasive techniques, he is amazing. Dr. Frantzides' office manager, Teresa, is also exceptional. She is extremely helpful, equally compassionate and very organized and efficient. I have been working in the medical field myself, for 35 years. I have never seen such fabulous team work and care. They are truly concerned about their patients and you will feel that each and every time you walk through their door. The same is true for the actual hospital and surgical experience with them. The hospital experience was outstanding. Thank you Dr. Frantzides and Teresa! I am so grateful....You are the best!

Dr. Frantzides is a wonderful surgeon and very compassionate as well . I had 3 1/2 hours of major, major laparoscopic surgery with him five weeks ago and am now in successful recovery. I am forever grateful to him. My stomach and part of my colon were in my chest and he saved me. I highly recommend this skilled surgeon to all.

I am 76 years old. I was diagnosed with what they told me was a Zenker's Divericulum. Life is not worth living if it is not quality life. I couldn't eat because my food would get stuck and it wouldn't make it down or it would end up going to my lungs putting me in great danger of pneumonia which in my age could potentially be my demise. Thus two weeks ago I decided to undergo surgery feeling I have nothing to loose. Dr. Frantzides did my surgery and had me home the next day, to my and my family's disbelief. He is truly a miracle worker. I am doing great and thanks to Dr. Frantzides for the first time in years I am looking forward to a wonderful Christmas dinner.

Recently my world cam down crumbling when I learned that I will have to have some of my large bowel removed. I was diagnosed with perforated diverticulitis and the first surgeon I consulted with told me that I would need part of my colon to be removed and I would end up with a colostomy. My husband started searching for a surgeon who could do that surgery laparoscopically. My husband works for a pharmaceutical company and through his connections he got the name of Dr. Frantzides. I researched the name, went to meet with him, and had my surgery soon after. It was done laparoscopically without a colostomy, and with only few small incisions to remind me that I had a major surgery. I stayed in the hospital for two days but yet two hours after surgery I was up and walking just the way Dr. Frantzides promised it would be.

My first surgery was not by Dr.Frantzides, not elective, and not a success by any means.I had a bowel obstruction and had to be operated on emergency basis. All could be well if they hadn’t punctured my bowel and I didn’t need months and months to recover, not to mention the geographic map and the huge ventral hernia I had on my abdomen after all that was over.Though Iwas very reluctant to go under the knife ever again, but the shape I was in was unacceptable and soon I began my search.Unlike the first time around I had the option of asking around and doing my own research.I went to see Dr. Frantzides and instantly he had my trust. This man is a specialist in his field. I have the most respect for him. I had my hernia fixed and my corrective surgery by Dr.Frantzides,it was completely uneventful and I couldn’t be happier. There are always risks involved when it comes to surgery, but in the wrong hands they are so much higher. If you need surgery do yourself the favor and talk to Dr.Frantzides.

"Yes" he is out of network, and worth every penny. I don't know what the big deal is anyway;all it means is that your benefits may be reduced compared to "in-network" They billed my insurance and I had to pay my out-of network deductible. I went to doctors and doctors, and none of them could do my surgery laparoscpically because I had 2 open open surgery before. Dr. Frantzides did my surgery laparoscopically 6 months ago and I did not raise a hair. In fact my primary physician that send me to an open surgeon couldn't beleive when I told her that I was home the next day. "Yes" I paid something out of pocket and I would do it again. Thank God for Dr. Frantzides. If it wasn't for him I would be slashed open again and I would be still in the hopital healing, assuming everything went well. Like I said in the beginning "worth every penny"

I feel compelled to write this after reading some of the reviews. Dr.Frantzides did my LGB and saved my life 8 years ago. Shortly after my surgery I went to work for him for the next 7 plus years. I now live 6 hours away and miss him, very much. It is disturbing to read the reviews talking about the fees. The doctor does not pick your policy, co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, or what Ins. Comp. refers to as “usual and customary”. Dr. Frantzides DOES accept insurances, but he is “out of network”. Patients are informed of this prior to ever seeing him and can walk out. Dr. Frantzides patients leave his office very informed and their quality of life is much better after surgery as well (no dumping). His outcomes speak for themselves; his patients love him and become family. Many do not know of Dr. Frantzides humble background, so when you see his degrees and awards understand that they represent his hard, pioneering work, and commitment to be the VERY BEST for his patients.JERRI KELLEY

As the other posters have noted, Dr. Frantzides is "out of network" for all insurances, meaning I had to pay "a lot" of money for my obesity surgery. However, having had my surgery about 3 years ago, I feel that it was money well spent- I am off insulin, off blood pressure meds, my arthritis is much better, (and my wife doesn't complain about me snoring anymore). While there are many other surgeons doing this procedure, I don't think I have ever been to a physician, much less a surgeon, who has spent as much time with me, answering questions, reassuring me, and offering to help. Someone mentioned that another surgeon sent them off for various counseling prior to surgery, and Dr. Frantzides wanted the surgery done ASAP. I think I have the BEST counselor- the surgeon himself! Oh- and I had to wait a couple months for my surgery- but so my wife could get some time off of work- that was fine with Dr. Frantzides. Anyway- I would highly recommend him.

WARNING!!! Do NOT be fooled by this surgeon's awards and accolades, which are plastered ALL over his office!! The other person who left the review regarding the cost was 100% spot on! This man does NOT take ANY insurance, only CASH. He also RUSHES his patients into surgery!! I had several moderate health issues, and a raging eating disorder, that needed immediate medical attention and this surgeon set a date for my surgery that would have had me on the table within a month of first meeting him and then out the next day!! I would not have had any psychological support OR been prepared in ANY WAY for what this process entails!! I thankfully RAN to another surgeon, who immediately had me in for tests and, in my case, 3-6 months of a bariatric counseling, which is preparing me for the HUGE lifestyle change headed my way! That is a MUST for ANYONE considering this. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL HERE!!

I too met with this doctor, who has an outstanding reputation as a fine surgeon, and he does, but he is NOT IN-NETWORK and his fee, $17,400,00. is a cash-only option. The rest of my insurance would cover everything, 100%, but not that. I was disappointed, to say the least, but found another top-notch surgeon In-Network.
