Dr Lindsay is the most amazing Dr and I'm so blessed to have him as our family Dr for over 30 yrs. I'm really dreading the day he retires.

Dr Lindsay has been my doctor since I was born, I’m almost 30 now. I’ve struggled with mental health my whole life and he’s never pushed me onto any medications I did not want. I’ve been on and off of birth control with his help every time because I needed up having a sensitivity to it, and when I was ready to stop all together he never forced any opinions on me, only answered my questions and made me feel reassured.
I also have a small fear of needles and he’s sat patiently with me and helped me through all of my injections without scaring me.
I’m so happy he’s my doctor!

Dr Lindsay has been my family doctor my entire life, and while there are good things about him, such as his bedside manner and genuine care for his patients, there are plenty of bad as well. He does not hesitate to give out prescription drugs that can cause serious bodily harm (birth control and IUDs) but will try and persuade any young woman against having their tubes tied. He refused to even refer me for a consultation for tubal ligation for seven years, and only agreed when my partner came to an appointment with me. I have also inquired about anti anxiety meditation such as aativan, and he flat out refused to give me anything similar on the grounds that he "does not prescribe tranquilizers." The worst thing however is not him, but his receptionist, Janet. She is apparently incapable of returning phone calls and messages, and on several occasions when I have needed referrals, she has said she would call me when it was confirmed and after weeks of waiting I would have to call her. More than once she told me she had the information within an hour and simply did not call me. How this is accepted in a doctors office is beyond me. I asked her to change my information when I moved out of my parents home, and my parents still receive calls for me because Janet can't even manage to change my phone number. As soon as I am able to I will be going to a new doctor.

A special shout-out to Dr. Robert Alexander Lindsay at the Oshawa Clinic, an overpaid boomer with decades of experience shilling for the pharmaceutical industry. He got me hooked on anti-depressants when I was 12 as a "stop-gap" measure. Then, realizing that there were no mental health supports for young people, he basically said "Keep him drugged. It'll help him cope with being poor."

The few months of the year he wasn't on vacation in some far-flung destinaton, Dr. Lindsay always made certain to respond to my distress at being left behind in the new economy by encouraging me to try more drugs. If I continued to resist the label of "mentally ill" and instead advocated for myself as being economically vulnerable and struggling to find meaning in a society that sees me as disposable labour, that simply meant I wasn't sedated enough.

Dr. Lindsay has been my family doctor for over 30 years. In that time he looked after my family with caring and knowledge. He always takes time to listen, refers when needed and displays an understanding of all modern medical issues. He helped my husband discover his cancer in the early stage and therefore his recovery has been 10 yrs. successful. He is an amazing family physician and I am so lucky he is my doctor.

Simple: Dr Lindsay needs to retire now. He is old school and has overstayed his welcome at the Oshawa Clinic.
