I have been a patient seeing Dr. Ross for my annual check up every year ever since he performed surgery to close a macular hole in my left eye 14 years ago. Usually I have to spend more than an hour but since the pandemic with new measures in place, I was in and out in less than half an hour for the last two visits. It brings me to wonder why this couldn't be done in normal times. Anyway, all in all Dr. Ross has been very nice to me and saved my vision, for which I am eternally grateful

Dr Ross and his team at St Paul's hospital are simply amazing! I was referred by the emergency dept after waking up nearly blind in both eyes. With in a short amount of time I saw Dr Ross, who upon looking at my eyes suspected right away that I had a bacterial infection and ran a multitude of tests and discovered I had a severe late stage bacterial infection that had been misdiagnosed by my family doctor. Dr. Ross and his team upon receiving the tests results called me in to change the course of my treatment, which within a few days started to help regain my sight and ultimately kept me from getting sicker and losing my sight all together and more importantly treating the infection that had it been left untreated would have eventually killed me. I can't thank him and his team enough for their thoroughness. I will say that at times you may need to wait, but that maybe due to the doctor dealing with emergencies that come in (like my first visit), so if you are tight for time, it could be an issue, but when it comes to your health ...ask yourself if rushing is really that important

Dr Ross is an amazingly skilled and exceptionally caring professional who saved me from going entirely blind in one eye and nearly so in the other. And he did so with a quiet, reassuring, non-judgmental, graciousness that I was particularly grateful for, as it was my own lifestyle choices that had caused the issue that brought me to him in the first place.

I remember the day of my 2nd appointment and 1st surgery. Several other patients and I were in the waiting room, listening for our names to be called and watching as patients & doctors alike walked up and down the long hallway. And though I hadn't known it, I must have looked terrified, because on one of Dr Ross's passes from the reception desk to the treatment rooms, he actually stopped in front of me and when I looked up, took my hands in his, and said something akin to "Don't worry. We're going to take very good care of you. You'll see." This might seem strange to some, but it was exactly what I'd needed to hear at the exact moment I'd needed to hear it. And to be honest, I got all teary-eyed with relief. And during the surgery I had been so afraid of? I didn't feel a thing, and Dr Ross restored my vision, then something like 20/80, right back 20/20 again!

I had originally read reviews about Dr Ross about 5-6 yrs ago. And a couple of people had posted negative reviews claiming he shuffled people in & out, or that he was aloof, and because I am particularly sensitive to those sorts of things, I almost didn't follow through. Thankfully, though, I kept reading, and found that a great many more people said the exact opposite, and those, had all been patients of Dr. Ross's for 10, 15, 25 years...

I chose to trust the latter and I'm so glad I did! I will say that the office is efficiently run, which is likely why such a renowned surgeon has time to both train the surgeons of the future and help restore vision to people like you and me. There is no aloofness though, and time is taken as it's needed for questions & explanations etc. So, if you've any doubts, let me just say, "Don't worry. Dr. Ross will take great care of you. You'll see" 🙂

I have been seeing Dr Ross for the last 3 years. I appreciate his unique style of no nonsense, straight forward communication coupled with kindness and empathy.
His office staff are extremely efficient and accommodating and always smiling.
I did not know what to expect in my first visit and had built some anxiety about what was going to happen.
His style relaxed me and the procedure went far better than I anticipated.
I recommend him highly.

I have been seeing Dr Ross for about 15 years now. I am a diabetic and he has been able to stabilize my vision so that I have been able to continue to work. His care and his attention to detail have allowed my to continue to see the world through my own eyes. His office is very friendly and conscientious as they emulate his nurturing and caring manners . Office visits are about 30--45 minutes from the time I get there until I leave -- this allows for a pressure and visual exam , and the next thing is am dilated and this is where my wait time is.. Once my eyes are dilated I am in to see Dr. Ross and if I need an injection I get it and then I leave. I am so lucky to have such a thoughtful and caring medical team. Thank you Dr. Ross. -----

I have been seeing Dr. Ross for about a year and a half for my Macular Degeneration. I cannot express how grateful I am for his expertise. His staff has always treated me with kindness and politeness. Yes at times I have had to wait but that is such a small price to pay for the very best care. I am so grateful to be his patient.

I have been seeing Dr. Ross for about 20 years. He saved my eyesight after I had a retinal detachment.. He saw me the same day that my ophthalmologist referred me to him. Since then, I have been seeing him for checkups. I may wait for an hour in his office but that is likely because he tries to provide care for a large number of patients and he does not turn away emergency situations. Those who are unhappy about waiting should remember that there are very few ophthalmologists of his calibre and we are all very lucky to get in to see him. To me, he is a hero.
