The staff are unfriendly, rude and cold. I would think being in the healthcare industry the staff would be friendlier considering I've been seeing Dr. Pyper for over 20years. Who to this day still has no idea how to pronounce my name.

Shouldn't the receptionist be giving curtesy reminder calls ?

Dr Pyper has been my doctor for over 25 years and has consistently demonstrated a commitment to my health, and more recently, the health of my children. She has on numerous occasions made follow up telephone calls, typically post-op. She is thorough in taking histories and exams and attentive to her patient's overall well-being, not just physical issues. She will fit me into a busy day if I have an urgent problem. She is not a specialist, but knows the medical resources of Toronto and will make good referrals. I have been extremely fortunate to have such a good doctor.

Nice person, but not very thorough with medical complaints. Makes you feel like the problem is in your head or downplays the issue. Very reluctant to provide referrals. Consistently unable to recall patients' medical history or ongoing medical issues. Rarely ever follows up on test results with patients. Her negligence with a family member's medical problem, resulted in that family member's near death. We have since transferred to a new GP who we are far happier with.

Dr.Pyper has been my (and my familys) doctor for 25 years (since was born!) . She is wonderful, very direct and to the point. She can come across as cold but she cares deeply about her patients, and honestly I've always found it refreshing. Her recommendations for specialists are always sound. She never pushes medication or overmedicates which is wonderful. She has seen me born and married and I hope she will see my future child born too!

I have been a patient for about 10 years. Dr. Pyper is well-informed and generally makes helpful suggestions regarding my choice of treatments. However, she rushes through the appointment and even cuts me off mid-sentence when I am describing my symptoms! The receptionists are rude - especially over the phone - and they will leave you on hold for over 15 minutes with no apology. The nurses are great - warm and caring - but Dr. Pyper seems to be over-worked. Maybe she schedules too many patients per day. Its sad but I still think that she's still about as good as it gets in Ontario.

The staff is very kind and professional. I've been a patient for 20+ years and luckily very healthy until recently when I was experiencing uncommon guynecological issues, suffice to say she never referred me to a specialist and I suffered for 3 years needlessly. Furthermore, she was not collegial with a peer physician and refused to release relevant test results, she ignored my numerous inquiries asking for a logical reason for her delay. I finally received a response when I was practically in tears (it felt totally humiliating!)and she described her refusal to co-operate as a "billing" issue. That is clearly negligent and condescending, and I was shocked at her lack of tact. She obviously looks at her patients as revenue potential. She should quit medicine and get into hedge funds!

Discouraged colonoscopy for my father. My dad was diagnosed with colon cancer that spread to the pancreas and passed away. Pure negligence and no dad.

Dr. Pyper has been my doctor for about 15 years. She has always been very thorough with me - ordered an HCG test and found out I was pregnant before even my body knew!! Called me at home to tell me and has always been great at keeping in touch and checking in with me. Recently she forced me off the pill because she knew I was a social smoker - good for her, as she stuck to her guns and cared more about my health than I did at the time. There have been a couple of hiccups along the way and there have been times when I have not felt she took my concerns completely seriously or heard my worry, but I consider myself lucky to have her as my doctor and am already scared for the day that she retires!!!! On a somewhat related note, have to say that although the nurses are lovely, the receptionists are beasts - pushy when trying to find out why I want to make an appointment - one even gave me the results of a test over the phone! They should all be replaced - no warmth or professionalism.
