I have been a patient at Oklahoma Pain Center with Dr. Blake Kelly and Stacy Torres APRN for over 2 years and I have never never had a problem with either the Dr. or staff, they have always been very friendly, helpful and nothing but professional, I have gone from 8-10 pain pills a day to 4-5 extened release which was great for me to be able to stop taking so much pain meds, Dr. Kelly sat and talked with me and listened to me offered lots of advice ,was concerned about me and my physical and emotional health, I am very Blessed to have been referred here and I am very happy with my Dr. and the staff ,Thanks

I am a nurse with a bachelor's degree and 20 years experience. This practice is way too big. You will see a physician your first visit - then 'other' staff there after. Good luck getting Triage to call you back. They take pride in firing patients. The PA was bragging that he had 'fired' 4 patients the day I was seen. I was a patient for an extended period of time - but because of their policies and weekly DEA meetings - they have lost sight of patient rights - and look more to cover their practice and appease the FED more than Patients or some level of understanding.

I had a total of 3 amputations on my left foot. I was accepted as a patient by Dr. Kelly. The Dr. was very helpful and seemed genuinely concerned with my pain. He understood that my pain level was great and that I had tolerance to pain meds. I was suffering so much at the time and I thanked God for Dr. Kelly. My health became much worse. In Nov. 2011, I had esophagitis and could not stop vomiting. I kept Kelly informed and was admitted to the hospital for 3 days in Nov. and Jan. Each time I could not hold any of my meds down so the hospital prescribed me 3 fentynyl patches to use if I could not use my pain meds. They took away my breakthrough meds. I had more of my foot cut off I spent a week there and then was transferred to ManorCare for physical rehab. Of course, I'm not allowed to use any outside prescribed drugs.I was told that I am being dismissed for good for breaking the opiate contract. He's so scared of the DEA that it is clouding his judgement and hurting his patients

I have been reading some of these comments and I'm shocked! I have had a wonderful experience since I started with Dr. Kelly. I'm not very fond of all the nurses but overall he has a pretty good nursing staff. Dr. Kelly and his staff seem very knowledgeable. I'm on 50% less medication since I started seeing Dr.kelly but I feel 100% better. Karie the pa I have been seeing is wonderful. They have a triage department that most pain management clinics don't have so if you are having any problems you can call. The triage nurse. Kelly was very helpful when I was having problems with my medications and she called me back the same day to fix my problem and you can also email her. That's why I'm shocked by all these other comments. Its a great pain management. Clinic

Over medicated, and I had a lot of side affects from unnecessary med.'s better used for other conditions. I tried to make them understand that I didn't expect to be pain-free...I just wanted enough medication so that I could function. I told them I have a high tolerance to discomfort, wanting to take only the minimum necessary. Trusting them to listen, and to know what they were doing, I took what was given me, and called in at signs problems. I couldn't function while on all the med.'s...9 of them! I am now on 3, and doing well, thanks to a different doctor who got to know ME.

If you already have a medical degree and know how to navigate yourself through the pain management maze and prefer seeing PA's over seeing a doctor then this is the right place for you. This place just seems to get worse with each visit. There is a high turn over rate of employees and the PA's have very little, if any, knowledge of pain management. They have a negative attitude and seem to assume the worst. If you have a choice of going somewhere else, that is what I would recommend. Dr. Kelly, himself seems to know about pain management but I have only seen him one or two times! The PA has him sign the prescriptions in another room but I haven't even seen him since my second appointment that was well over a year ago!

I began seeing Dr. Kelly about two years ago. He started out fine ad I had little problems with him. After several attempts I had a prescription that would work then I got laid off and had o go to private pay then he switched my meds for no reason. Each prescription made me sick and in pain. When I asked to go back to what works I was met with no explanation. It's as if he is treating me like an addict with monthly urine tests. The fact is I never see Dr. Kelly himself instead I see his PA that just relays back to him. I have even given him back the meeds that have made me sick. At the end of the day his opinion is still the same about you and once he feels you are an addict or something, he refuses to help you. He is the worst doctor I have ever encountered. Stay away from Kelly all he cares about is the money with no empathy for your chronic pain. I won't be seeing him again. What a waste of time and money.

Look at the dates on these complaints, Dr. Kelly used to be great and his office staff too. Then as time wears on, it is getting worse and worse. The staff is terrible and rude, they assume you are an addict there for your fix. My medicine has been changed for no reason and I was doing GREAT, and it got changed to a new medication my insurance will not cover. I am confused and everytime I ask a question or tell him I need something changed, they panic like it is a red flag for addiction and then change or titrate my meds so I feel like I am being punished. The nurse case manager from UHC called me and asked about my medicine change and when I explained it to her the way his NP explained it to me, she was very concerned and suggested I change doctors. I have a verified, officially diagnosed central nervous system disorder and changes or stops to my meds is very dangerous and he really does not care. I have to sign a new contract and take a urine test every single month.

Dr. Kelly is nice, I rarely see him. The PA's are very nice, thoughtful, and helpful. The referrals they've done are effective- BUT the nursing staff, and office staff are absolutely AWFUL. They are extremely rude, uncaring, and treat you like you are a drug addict. I wouldn't wish the pain I have on my worst enemy, there are many people with legitimate issues. It's not up to the nursing staff and office staff to make that call- but apparently they do. Call backs take way too long, the nurses are rude when they call back. I've had to call the nurses station 3 times- all 3 times she said "There's nothing I can do." They are completely unwilling to help you if it is not on your scheduled appointment day at your scheduled appointment time. For those days when you're in excruciating pain- tough luck. Oh- and don't you dare go to the ER- because then you'll get "dismissed." So, 1. don't call them, 2. don't go to the ER, 3. Suffer! Sorry 'bout ya!

Been seeing Dr Kelly several years. Actually, I rarely see him. I see his his nurse. LOVE HER! But some of the other staff and/or nurses, especially that one with the LOUD voice who seems to YELL during consults (so much for privacy thru thin walls) can be, well, less than sweet. Overall, Kelly is my second fave doctor in OKC so I have stuck with him the longest but it seems the more the practice grows, the less friendly. Lots of turnover in 3 years especially with the person who handles referrals - about 3 girls in 3 yrs and they are always SLOWWW with the referrals, sometimes weeks and sometimes requiring several reminder calls from me. Callbacks sometimes forgotten or take several days. This is a HUGE practice which explains their occasional disorganization and/or slow timing, but Dr Kelly really is very nice, as his much of his staff, and that is something I NEVER say about doctors since I pretty much loathe them all. lol
