Not a very pleasant person to talk with. Belittling and impatient.

I hate to write something negative about someone in such a public forum, but I felt so mistreated after an appointment with Dr. Fedorkow that I feel compelled to write this. I had my first and last appointment with her yesterday. After explaining to her nurse and resident, some very traumatic experiences in regard to my pelvic region in the past, I saw Dr. Fedorkow for the first time in the testing room. She seemed to have a brash personality - a little rough, but I was ready to chalk it up to the fact we all have different personalities... However, when she started to proceed with the testing and I was literally yelling out in pain, her lack of genuine empathy was heartbreaking, especially for a doctor with age and experience. She spoke to me without actually looking at me in the eye. It is hard to explain, but I felt like another number on the testing table, not a person. She was dismissive snd condescending. I cried as I walked to my car. I would expect a higher level of care and empathy from someone with her credentials. I would also expect better care from a woman who is in the position of power over a woman who is spread eagle, naked, and vulnerable in from of her. Thank God she is retiring.

After reading some of these comments I was nervous I wasn't going to get the help I needed after waiting 10 years to get a referral from my family Dr but I was very happy with my visit with Dr. Fedorkow. I only had to wait about 15 minutes before I was taken in to be assessed. Herself and her staff made me feel very comfortable especially during a physical exam.
The only complaint I'd have is after the exam I had I was bleeding a bit after and was a bit swollen with some burning but they never went over how I'd feel after ect so I wasn't sure if this was normal. I feel they maybe should have gone over that. Other than that no major complaints.

Saw Dr. Fedorkow at the Women's Clinic, within St. Joseph's East End Ambulatory Centre. While I have absolutely no complaints with the clinic and most of their staff, I did not find Dr. Fedorkow helpful at all. I was referred to the clinic as a menopausal woman, trying to find remedies for the myriad of symptoms I'm experiencing. The first appointment, the doctor just handed me a pamphlet and told me to look up "menopauseandu.ca". The next appointment, she asked if I had looked up the website then asked if I had any more questions? She appeared very disinterested in my condition, both emotionally and physically and basically said I should get more exercise. No discussion about other possible treatments (bio-identicle hormones, therapy etc.) Really amounted to a waste of time:(

this dr was amazing, she made me feel extremely comfortable, and explained everything in detail. she knew that I was uncomfortable, and made every effort to relax me. I would definitely see her again. Her nurse was also very nice. My appt was at 10am and I was finished at 10:30am, not many offices like that anymore.

Worst gyne I have ever seen. No empathy ...stared away while I was talking and very patronizing and rude and ...I will never see her again.

I found Dr. Fedorkow to be extremely helpful concerning my medical condition. She explained very clearly to me (after a few tests) what the problem was and how it could be treated. I found the Dr. to be very empathic to my circumstances and she answered all my questions very clearly and offered even more info than I had thought of at the time. I am still seeing her on a regular basis and would NOT change her for the world. Her staff have been very good to me and also very knowledgeable.

I visited Dr Fedorkow with my mother yesterday and it was a terrible experience. She was not empathetic to my mother's concerns, nor did she try to explain options in a caring manner. Instead I found her to be dismissive and impatient with my mother. She was unprofessional. She did not explain the medical condition well nor did she discuss the options available in a clear and concise manner. My mother was more concerned and confused after the appointment.

I visited Dr. Fedorkow a few years ago and I am still scarred from this experience. I found her to be incredibly rude, not very helpful and not the slightest bit empathetic to her patients. I have been a patient since I was a toddler and this is by far the worse doctor I have seen! I am someone who hates crying in public but I left her office in tears. She lacks passion for her career stating to me once, "can you believe this is what I do for a living". After running ONE test and telling me there was nothing more she could do I went to another specialist for this same issue and he said there was so much that had never been tested he could not understand why another doctor would give up on my case so early.
