Doctor Appoo replaced my calcified (I'm a geologist!) aortic valve two years ago...and the
two-year stress check-up merely verified what we already knew from strenuous activity
over that period of time... that a flawless surgical job had been done by the good doctor, and his team in February, 2018. due to his and their efforts I have not felt that I've missed a single step with my new bovine organ. And at age 84, I'm still playing tennis up to three times a week,
riding my elliptical trainer, creating and marketing art jewelry, taking long walks, traveling internationally, and doing whatever labor is required to run my own home, thanks to these
people. And who could ask for anything more from such surgery???

Amazing surgeon. Our mother arrived via ambulance with an aortic aneurysm. Within two weeks, with a new aorta and repaired valve, she has a new lease on life at 80. Dreams do come true. HIghly recommended.

I can honestly say Dr Appoo performs wonders! He cares deeply and goes above and beyond in the operating room. I was not an easy case but he never gave up and here I am today, running, jumping and living life to the fullest. Thank you from the bottom of my "new heart".

Dr. Jehangir Appoo was my surgeon at the Foothills and did all that he could to help me feel confident, comfortable and courageous prior to my surgery. He completed my surgery and coached me on some very important after care information based on my previous lifestyle. Seven weeks after, I feel great! My recovery is going very well. Extremely helpful in decision whether to have bicuspid aortic valve and aortic aneurism repair (was on the cusp) Took great to minimize scarring and best of all, surgery was highly successful.

I'm alive and I have this man to thank.the rating questions are kind of misleading because I didn't have him for a Doctor for very long and only saw him a couple of times after the surgery. Some of the staff at the Foothills were excellent yet others were just putting in time.As far as knowledge, the guy did a quadruple bypass on me when he was originally supposed to give me a double so the go can think on his feet .I only have one thing to say to Dr.Appoo and that is thanks .

I did extensive research. It wouldn't matter where I lived in North America. I would have wanted to come to Calgary to have him deal with my case. I am so very fortunate that he was my surgeon. He is gifted. He is creative. I truly owe him my life. Thank you Dr. Appoo. Thank you.
