If you have an appt somewhere else, cancel and enjoy the wait, which is noticably longer in the winter months. Many times I've been 2nd, or 1st in line in the summer. Dr Joe is very helpful, and calming. If I moved to B.C. I'd fly back to see him. No other Dr has bothered to deal with the numrerous aliments I'm plagued with. Doing your due diligance prior to seeing him helps - come prepared & informed. Dr Joe does love history, and often will side track, but I honestly believe it's for the better. It's his way of diverting what may, or may not be wrong. Stick around Dr Joe, I won't be able to live without you.

Nice guy but should stay away from treating psychiatric issues. He doesn't take mental health seriously enough.

Always a long wait after a scheduled appointment. Always rushed out of office as fast as possible. wouldn't recommend anyone to visit his clinic. Not very professional, thinks mental illness is a joke.

Dr. Fried is the most intelligent, professional, knowledgeable, compassionate doctors' in this country. After having been referred to him and being welcomed when he was no longer accepting new patients, it was definately worth the wait. I have been sent to many doctors that have misdiagnosed me and tried to brush me off with unnecessary medication. Dr. Fried took the extra time to research my medical history, retest me with all relevent tests and procedures, and correctly diagnose me. He followed up with me on a weekly basis and after following his advice and medical treatments, he was able to cure me. Dr. Fried is my hero.

I was a patient of Dr. Frieds for over 15 years. I have since moved to Sudbury and leaving his practice was a major loss. I found his nurse to be efficient but not friendly. Long waits were normal but only because he took the time needed with each patient. I found him to be very intelligent and knowledgeable. More than anything I found him to be loaded with common sense and compassion. He helped me through three depressions and was better than any of the psychiatrists I've seen. He is very hard working and puts in long days helping his patients. He has a large patient load and many of them are low income which means they need lots of time. One often waits a long time to see doctor Fried but is is worth it. He unlike many doctors will not restrict the visit to one medical problem. So one visit can yield a lot of benefits. I have been lucky in that I have enjoyed and respected all my doctors. Dr. Fried was one of the very best.

He is way too overbooked, wait times are extremely long. Talks too much about unrelated crap or compares my problem with someone he knew who was "much worse off". Pulease! I really don't care about anyone else when I am sick, fix my problem and quit yapping about others. Will refer you if you demand it, and/or give him the details on who you want to see. He loves to talk! Even through his faults, he does seem knowledgeable and caring for the most part. His staff is bland at best, no personality, and ignores you if she's on a personal phone call. The office itself needs a facelift desperately. The waiting area is filthy and too small for the number of people always waiting. He's lucky it's so hard to find a new GP.

Dr. Fried is one of the best family physicians I have ever had. He is personable, doesn't rush you out the door as soon as you walk in and he listens. His punctuality only gets a 3 but that is because a) he listens and doesn't rush you out the door and b) if you REALLY need an appt, they will fit you in which sometimes delays others. If I make an appointment, I bring a book to pass the time because I know I won't get it for when I was booked but don't mind since I have been one of those who have been 'fit' in on the day I call. I've been going to see Dr. Fried for over 10 years and even when I moved to Grimsby, I would drive in to see him.

Fantastic doctor. Both my husband and I are patients and are very thankful to have his expertise. He actually opened his office for an appt with us before his receptionists were in due to some unusual test results that had come back for my husband. He set us up with the correct specialists immediately

Great doctor, treats you when you need it. Likes to spend time to get to know you before he decides what is truly wrong with you. I really enjoyed having him as a doctor.
