Dr. Lightheart did a perionotomy on me several years ago. A few weeks later the area became very red and painful and she refused to let me come in so she could take a look at it. Then one area developed an ulcer and she refused to let me come in to show it to her. Then that spot started oozing pus and she refused to let me come in so she could take a look at it. A few months after the surgery the red spot had turned into a gaping hole through which I could see a stitch done in blue and white thread. I called her and she told me that that was impossible because the stitch would have dissolved by then. She refused to let me come in so she could take a look at it. A few days later I called her again because the stiff blue and white thread was jabbing into my soft parts painfully. She again told me it was impossible and refused to see me.

So I went to the hospital where a wound specialist took a look at it and said it was non-asorbable suture thread, and would never have dissolved. He didn't understand why she had repeatedly refused to just look at it. He cut the stitch to remove it and the wound healed up in under a week.

It's been over a decade and I still have a hole there that is sensitive to the touch. I don't know what was going through her head but I would never trust her again with my health.

Thanks to Dr. Lightheart, I had a hysterectomy after over a quarter century of pain and misery. She listened to me explain everything I'd been through, told me what were the likely issues, ran tests, asked me what I wanted to do, and made it happen. She was the first OBGYN to actually listen to and respect me as a patient -- compassionate, kind, attentive, genial, and professional. Over a decade later I have zero regrets, no long-term complications, and a much happier life. I'm so grateful to have had the good fortune to wind up in her care when I moved to Hamilton. No idea if she's still taking patients since moving to Owen Sound, but if so, and you're looking for an OBGYN who will take your concerns seriously, Dr. Lightheart is a gem.

Most thorough amazing and kind MD out there. Excellent bedside manner and knowledgeable. Had me fixed up withing a few short months. My issues were complicated for years and she healed me up. She is an angel

I was fortunate to have Dr. Lightheart deliver my second child via planned cesarean (she also performed a tubal ligation at the same time).Because of complications I had only been assigned to her 2.5 weeks before delivery, but she was very reassuring during the 2 pre-op appointments I had, and really took her time to listen and treat me like a person, not just a number. She preformed the surgery with excellence, and was able to keep me as much at ease as possible throughout. I truly felt she cared when she saw me for the post-op appointments, and she even extended my hospital stay so I could be cared for while my baby was in the nursery for as long as possible, which she didnt have to do. I consider myself very fortunate that she was assigned my case, and have healed very well so far from the surgery.

Dr Lightheart was my OB for my last two pregnancies, she was wonderful. Often not on time, but that is fine. because it was worth the wait. She was kind, knowledgeable, and caring.

I had Dr Lightheart for both of my pregnancies and she was wonderful. There would occasionally be a wait but like everyone else says, it’s because she doesn’t rush you during appointments. I was lucky enough to have her bring both my children into the world as well. One by csection which went as smoothly as I could ask for, and one vaginally which went great as well. She is a fabulous doctor!!

Dr. Lightheart is calm and caring and takes time to answer all your questions. I never feel uncomfortable with her. Generally appointments don't have long wait times but sometimes she does run late which has never really bothered me too much considering she will never make you feel rushed. Secretary is great and friendly too! I would totally recommend her!

Great doctor, actually cares about your well being. You might wait 20 to 30 minutes but she will spend the time with you when it is your turn. Her receptionist is very friendly and helpful. She has always squeezed me in when I have a concern. I would definitely recommend Dr.Lightheart, she is one of a kind!

Always late by at least 40 minutes. she doesn't want to understand you. She speaks with you like... you are the second sort of human. She is very very rude. I don't recommend her.
