He was actually really great. He can come across rude and gruff but I think thats just first impressions. The more you see him the more you end up liking him. Hes good at his job, very thorough and when he had saw an inkling of something that felt off to him during my pregnancy, he referred me so fast to specialists and called me a few times to follow up and make sure everything was okay. I had great experiences with him for all 3 pregnancies and deliveries.

2015, best gynaecologist I've even had.. To the point, , have many others because of relocating, wish * was still under his care.

I met dr. Gurland 3-4times when he was on - call during the day at. MBU room at CVH.....during my 5wk stay with premature prelabour ruptured membranes .
He talked. quick ,mumbled without any sugarcoating , I do not know why I felt intimidated from him but other staff told me that he is a great surgeon . He said ,be ready for C-section becoz baby has breached now .....he is a surgeon without frills ,just plain ,to the point . I had my own amazing. MFM’s. Dr. Nicole Cohen & dr. Menzies & when mild labour started with considerable bloody discharge Dr. Alisha Olsthoorn was on on - call & she talked about risks & benefits to my MFM’s on phone & did the emergency C-section successfully with a happy ending .......

I had Dr Gurland for 2 surgeries and had nothing but positive experiences. Very nice, patient and professional, he was the first male gyno I had and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all

I have met Dr. Gurland 3-4 times during my 2 pregnancies. He does look a bit intimidating but he was nice to talk to and made me feel comfortable with cervix examination too. He was around for my induction and he made the right calls.

I had my first OBGyn appointment at credit valley and Dr Gurland was on shift that day since this hospital follows rotational shift. After waiting for almost 3hrs which was already irritating, he hardly spent 5m and was not at all in mood to answer any of my basic questions which anyone would have as a first time mother.
Felt really cold, sarcastic and rude.
I would really not wish to see him again in any of my appointments.

The reviews on this site scared me, but so glad I didn’t listen to them! I was terrified as I was being checked for cervical issues and he was so nice! He talked me through what he was doing, what he was looking for, what he was seeing, etc. answered my questions, and took care of me. I was a little light headed and he stayed with me until I felt better and everything. I’m very thankful for the care he provided.

Despite of all the bad reviews i find Dr. Gurland very professional and knowledgeable man. I had my first delivery which was a precious delivery as i was 39 and one attempt of ivf failed with one previous miscarriage. Drs told me i might not be able to conceive, so when i got pregnant out of blue spontaneously i was really worried to get Dr. Paul Garland as my obstetrician. However not only he performed amazing c-section he listened to my concerns of minimal scar and delayed healing. I was up and about after 3rd day of surgery with perfect scar and healed nicely without any issues. I must say not all the bad reviews here are true. I didnot find him racist or any other bad things said about him here. Yes he was not much friendly type like other drs but he do his job perfectly and at the end as a patient this is l we need.

I had the pleasure of being cared for By Dr. Gurland for 3 of my 5 pregnancies. One was delivered at Milton hospital because the Credit Valley labor and delivery sent me home in labour (not to their fault I guess) . At 18 years old very new to this pregnancy thing etc. I hadn't chosen Dr.Gurland but through the entire process even afterwards checking in on me to see how I was doing. If I could guarantee giving birth with him each time I had my babies I probably wouldn't have had home births. I would recommend him to anyone who needs to be reassured that the Doctor who is working with then takes his job seriously. He may not have made any jokes or anything but he always made sure me and my babies were well taken care of.

I absolutely adore Dr. Gurland. He is straight to the point and doesn't sugar coat anything, which is what I like. I was seeing him when my pap came out bad and had a LEEP done to remove precancerous cells. He made me feel comfortable.
