I still think Dr. Giavedoni is one of the best doctors. Yes you have to wait. But your eye sight is worth it. He saved my father's eyes and many others.

I would like to give zero stars. We can all agree, he overbooks, makes you wait hours and brushes off your concerns like some meaningless complaint and gives you only 5 minutes. I have not seen Dr. Giavedoni in over a decade. I am a type 1 diabetic that experienced a retina bleed in either the late 80's or early 90's. To be honest I can not remember the date. He preformed laser on the left eye and that was the start of more severe bleeds that occurred shortly after each and every one of his treatments. Over time I had no night vision and no peripheral vision at all. I was seeing through a small pin hole, and the vision was distorted like looking through a concave lens that had been smashed. We constantly argued that this treatment was supposed to save my vision. What vision? I can only see a faint light through the left eye. Years later, just as Dr Giavedoni had predicted (promised), the other eye started to bleed. I gave him permission to do one treatment and then I said never again! This time I changed doctors. Still the long wait but not half as bad. I have to thank his colleague who took "let's wait and see if it clears up on its own" approach and I never had another treatment, nor will I ever have another treatment. I can put up with the small black pieces that swirl through the vision they are old bleeds that did not clear and there is nothing new. These laser treatments are a money making business. You are part of the assembly line for their all mighty dollar. I won't even go to have my eyes dilated ever again and now the field of vison and OCT test is not covered by OHIP and they want you to have this done every year. Forget it!

Happy New Year 2024 to Dr. Giavedoni and Staff. Just want to thank you all for the utmost care that was provided for my father for all these long years. My father was given the gift of his eye sight for many years by Dr. Giavedoni. Just before the end of this year we noticed his vision deteriorating. This has to do with his age and diet. We accept this as part of life and will continue from here, but would like to say how grateful we are for the years of incredible vision he has had. Thank You Dr Giavedoni and Staff for all the years of dedication knowledge perseverance and big hearts. Blessings to You All.

My Family and myself are so glad and thrilled that my father is still doing so well with Dr. Giavedoni and the injections that are given to him. We just can't believe how amazing my Father's vision is. I use to visit with my father. Over all very clean professional environment, friendly. I enjoyed visiting with my Father but due to my health I have to get a friend for him to visit now. Just and incredible Doctor with such expertise. We are so happy and grateful. Thank you Doctor!

This is the first and last time we will be going to Dr. Giavendoni's office.
One of the worst experiences my mother, a senior, and I, her caregiver have experienced in a very long time. Dr. Giavedoni and his office staff do not exude a caring, compassionate atmosphere, but rather they generate an atmosphere of a practice that overbooks on a regular basis and then are surprised when patients complain about the wait time. If the doctor and his staff took the time to manage patient expectations better, I know that we would not have left so frustrated and upset.
The office actually called to ask if we wanted to come in earlier than scheduled because there was an opening. We took the new appt. At no time in our telephone conversation did the receptionist mention that it is common to wait up to 4 hours to see the doctor. If we had been told that, we would have cancelled the appt and not attended at all as my mother, the patient is 88 years old, and tires easily and just does not have the stamina to wait that long. On the day of the appt when we registered, no one in reception mentioned anything about a possible long wait. Once we inquired after waiting an hour we were told that it is common for patients to wait up to 4 hours. At 1:30 pm we were told that the doctor was working with his 10:00 am appts. We registered at 12:10 pm. The staff certainly would have known at that time that they were running behind.
We would have not been given any information if we had not questioned the wait.
Unacceptable, extremely poor practice and a total lack of respect for patients.

Doesn't like to answer questions sometimes. Takes to much time talking to other doctors. Very knowlegeable but its a long wait at the hospital.

Still going strong. My father is receiving care for his eyes by Dr. Giavedoni and doing so well. We r very happy about this. This dr. Is incredible. Take my advice he is one of the best!.. keep up the amazing work Dr.

I had a detached retina at a fairly young age in the year 2006. I ended up having several surgeries on this eye during the following year. I feel that this was because I had been misdiagnosed by a different doctor in a different hospital. This meant I did not get treatment as soon as possible and more than a full day went by before I received a proper diagnosis and treatment. Fortunately I was directed to St. Mikes hospital where I became a patient of Dr. Giavedoni. I truly appreciate everything that Dr. Giavedoni did for me. He was a wonderful doctor, very easy to talk to and reassuring. It has now been 17 years since the detachment and all the operations and procedures. My eye-site is still good after all that time. I believe that Dr. Giavedoni saved my eye-site. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending this wonderful doctor to anyone.

This doctor has made me disabled, he Did unnecessary surgeries on my eyes .
The cover up is hurtful.
He let his student operated on me while he engaged in conversations away from his patients I was an active working person not anymore. No quality of life . Anyone who has been severely affected like myself and have advise on how to move on. I will appreciate any help or Advise in moving forward. I can be reached at madvanced@hotmail.com
I miss going for a walk in my neighborhood, looking at the lake, all those simple things are no more for me.
When I see Dr Giavedoni in the hallway, he looks at me his head just hang as he knows that i knows he did not live up to the oate he took to do no harm.
I know I will always be on his mind and the minds of the fellows who helped to destroy my eyes to get their clincal hours.
First the fellow cut my Cornia and couldn't stop the bleeding.
He then try to stop the breeding by putting silicone in my eye. He did not even have the proper gauge syringe. He need a 25 gauge but he only had a 23 gauge, he commented to the fellow I am surprised I did not expect it to work.
Although I complained that the eye was blood fill, the fellow said it was normal and the Dr Giavedoni never visited me.
The other eye PictureMate was shown to other external Dr they said my retinal was never detached and the surgeries was unnecessary, the advise I will give to others seek out other doctors, even go over the border.
Anyone knows of any help out there in or out of Canada please let me know.
I am looking for information to help myself as to live a productive life that I do not have to depend on anyone.
My eyes was another car for him to enjoy but i cannot do the badic thinfs in life.
I do belive he helped some people but he truely failed me.
