Dr. Seth Kaufman has been and is magnificent! I have searched for years for a neurologist who would take the time and have the interest in my particular situation. I have had two TBIs, one from a ladder accident, another from being rear-ended with such force that my head smacked the steering wheel which caused internal hemorrhaging. Since then I have struggled with dizziness, migraines, and balance challenges. And this has spanned over fourteen years.

When I came to Dr. Kaufman last December he ordered a wide range of tests from MRIs (with and without contrast) of the brain and spine, 24-hour urine test, an EEG, and an EMG. He switched me from Depakote to Lamotrigine, and has also made suggestions to discuss with my sleep doc as alternatives to clonazepam which I take because I suffer from sleep apnea and idiopathic hypersomnia.

He is brilliant and skillfully draws upon his extensive training at Tulane Medical School, Cornell Medical Center in New York, and Massachusetts General. When I registered a concern about a potential conflict between Lamotrigine and Bubroprion, he consulted with colleagues at Harvard then advised me that the combination of these three drugs was not problematical. That he would call to seek the perspective of these highly trained physicians speaks volumes about his sincere commitment to providing excellent care and humility.

His focus is "being accessible and responsive for each of my patients." I have found this to be true. Not only is he accessible, but, he is a compassionate human being who shows genuine concern for his patients in trying to help them find solutions. Many doctors do not like to be questioned, or are put off by too many questions. But, not Dr. Kaufman. In fact he called me today suggesting alternative ways of taking Lamotrigine. At the end of the conversation he let me know that he is willing to chat at any time, once again demonstrating his sincere commitment to being accessible and generous with his time.

I cannot say enough great things about this man. I am extremely happy with every aspect of the care he provides, from his front office, to actual time spent with him. I am very grateful to be one of his patiens. Over my lifetime of 75+ years he is without doubt the greatest physician with whom I have ever worked with, and throughout my life I have seen many!

One of the brightest physicians I have met. It is worth the time getting to know him and his staff. Never in a hurry and explains situation so that you understand what is happening. Looking at his education and experience, it is hard to imagine a better choice of medical provider in his chosen field.

Drove 30 min to my appointment, arrived on time. Dr. Kaufman was not even in the office at noon. 2 patients were ahead of me and Dr. Kaufman was doing who knows what, maybe a nice round of golf. So if you want to wait indefinitely Dr. Kaufman's the guy to see.....

While you may have to wait a while for this wonderful man, he is worth the wait! After seeing four other doctors, I finally found one who is brilliant, explains everything clearly and cares for his patients. There isn’t a better neurologist in the state.

Great Doctor. Takes time to listen . Might wait longer but he informs you of that In New Patient Packet. I have seen many Doctors and he ranks as one of the best. Even if I lived in Tucson, I would make the trip to see him. Dr. Kaufman, you are the BEST.

The front desk is rude and difficult. On several occasions over the last year they have treated us as if we don't matter at all. As someone who has worked in the medica field for 15 years I understand front offices can only do so much and can take the brunt of complaints but this front off is absioulty terrible.

Dr. Kaufman just spoke with the Emergency room physician about my wife how was in the ER last night. We were told Dr. Kaufman is booking 2 months. I asked if she (the front desk girl) could check wth him under the circumstances and she said "Dr. Kaufman has no say over the schedule (how can that be in his own practice??). It sounded like Dr. Kaufman wanted to see her in ASAP when we were in Emergency last night but the front desk girl would not even ask him. She unapologetically replied "I can put you on a cancelation list but that's the best I can do". When I replied with "Ok, I suppose that I have no choice, put on the list and I'll as look for a new neurologist in the meantime" she said "ok, sounds good, good bye" and hung up the phone.

This was just our most recent expierance over 14 months of being with Dr. Kaufman. Kaufman himself is great. We love him, but there's no point is having a great doctor that you can't get a hold of because his office staff is unwilling to help. Very unfortunate for Dr. Kaufman.

15 years in the medical field as a practice and billing manager I can only imagine how much this is damaging his reputation that he's worked for hard for.

In all my years of seeing doctors I finally met one who cares and takes the time to hear my story. He didn't just review the chart he started from the beginning of my symptoms in 1988 and figured out I had a rare neuropathy all this time which turns out to be a treatable condition. I would recommend Dr. Kaufman to anyone looking for a wise compassionate doctor.

Dr. Kaufman will be my hero for a very long time. He took the steps to diagnose what was happening, giving me hope and a plan for treating the horrible pain I had experienced from the previous six months . He is thorough, no nonsense and empathetic-he should be held up as how all medical professions should work!

Finding Dr. Kaufman was a miraculous occurrence for me. A physical therapist was at my house one time and she made a comment to me that the diagnosis of spinal cord injury could not be accurate because my condition was ever worsening. She suggested that I find another neurologist to see why I was getting worse. A short time later I was at a pain clinic talking to the assistant who was treating me and I mentioned wanting another neurologist for my condition. Immediately he mentioned Dr Seth Kaufman as a very intelligent person who liked challenges. I went to see Dr Kaufman and after extensive testing he discovered that my C4, C5, and C6 were deteriorated and compressing my spinal cord so much that the spinal fluid was blocked from passing through the area. He immediately sent me to see my neurosurgeon, Dr. Luis Tumialan. My condition was so serious that I was on the operating table the next day and had a six and a half hours operation rebuilding my neck from the front and from the back in the same operation. Later when I was talking to Dr Tumialan, praising him for his talent he said to me "Dr Kaufman was the real genius that saw the problem. I merely fixed it. It is Dr Kaufman that deserves credit."
So i am a big fan of Dr Kaufman and his office staff and their intelligence and professionalism with underlying compassion. God bless Dr Kaufman.

Dr. Kaufman is brilliant. He is very observant and detects subtle nuances that impact your diagnosis. It is rare to find a great doctor with a warm, caring personality. If you have to wait for your appointment, it is because he is taking just as comprehensive care of the patient before you. I would rather wait for truly outstanding care than get substandard care quickly (which I have had plenty of in other offices). You can trust this doctor with your quality of life and health.
