The comments on 12/20/14 are identical to my experience. I waited 3 1/2 months for a first appointment. He wanted SMILE to do an updated MRI on my neck and a brain scan ASAP! He wanted me to stay and conduct a Nerve Test. Upon exiting the Receptionist said "No way. I will schedule the appointment when we have time." I had to call several times to get the MRI work order. Only one person in their office orders these. It took 6 weeks. They have set an appointment to discuss this in 60 days. The same drama and lies from the Receptionist about my Lab Tests left me wondering how they could run an office like this. They make you sign forms that if you question their scheduling or are rude to their staff, they can discharge "dump" you as a patient. The stress of the entire process is so unprofessional, I thought I was being "tested for my patience" and cried because my feet continue to deteriorate. No treatment, medication or plan of recovery was ever discussed. I will never trust the credentials of such an intellegent doctor again. There is a complete disconnect with his staff. I believe the person that walked out on the first appointment was smarter than I. Thank you for posting these ratings. It is a true service to people that suffer needlessly waiting on RUDE so called "professionals"! They get an "F" in every catagory. Submitted on 2/7/15

Dr. Kaufman is awesome. He is thorough, caring, and spends a lot of time with me during our appointments. He is also completely open to a more holistic approach, sending me to try alternative approaches before medicine. I love this. I, like others here have been to many neurologist and fount him to be one of the best I've ever gone to

I think Dr. Kaufman is a great doctor. I am surprised people said he was "gruff". I found him so nice. More importantly, he is a really thorough neurologist who seems to be up on the latest research - I felt like I got excellent care. The only downside is you will always wait a long time - be prepared. It is well worth it though - he is a high quality doctor and iwll get to the root of your problems.

Dr. Kaufman appears highly committed to discovering what will improve his patients' quality of life, but he doesn't jump to conclusions without collecting all the data - and he does not impugn the professionalism of doctors I've seen before, which I have found to happen too often in the profession.

I have been taking my mother to Dr. Kaufman for a year now. He listens, has great advise and truly cares for his patients. Every Dr. he has referred us to has the same quality of care as he does. We drive from north Glendale all the way to see him. It is well worth the effort when you find a Dr. like him. He is very quick to get back with you for test results. His office staff is competant and courteous. He is factual and to the point not gruff as others have written, if you need therapy go see Dr. Phil. He is TOPS in his field.

I was referred by another doctor. I was advised that he was very gruff but was very good... I waited 3 weeks for my appointment. I brought a family member with me as I am not suppose to drive at this time. They sat in the visit with me....The doctor was VERY gruff. He threw my medical history all over the desk. He told us one thing but in fact sent me for repeated, expensive tests that I had just had. He communicated poorly so we both thought I was being diagnosed for something other then what I was there for. I went for all of the tests that he suggested & he was still not able to diagnose what was wrong. I even went for some painful steroid shots that have actually made the pain worse..I have since gone to other doctors & am now a candidate for neck surgery...He does NOT fill out any paperwork for work or FMLA and charges $50 if another doctor or facility needs a copy of your records.

Dr. Kaufman is the best! I had been so mismanaged by neurologists when I got to him that I had almost given up on ever getting proficient care but after one visit he had me on a path to a better quality of life. He truly cares about his patients as if they were like his own family. He takes time and listens to everything you have to say, welcoming all concerns and questions openly. He never hesitates to answer completely honest either (which is beyond rare with so many greed infested doctors nowadays). His nurses are wonderful as well and his reception staff is amazing! This office prides itself on patient care and service. If you need to call, even after hours, they call right back. They truly care about their patients' well being. I have been going to him for three years now and even if I moved I'd probably still call and want his opinion on medical care.
