Found that he treats patients like they are a bother. He’s not thorough and rushes through. Had an issue & he didn’t request correct tests to confirm the issue. Too complacent.

Dr. Prins has been our family doctor for a long time. What I appreciate about him is that he zeroes in on your symptoms quickly, doesn't push medication if it's not needed, refers you to specialists if needed, is very knowledgeable and has a unique sense of humour. If there's something he needs more info on, he'll bring out "the book" to check. The incident I'm referring to was a concern I had about a dentist who froze my back tooth on 2 different occasions that also froze my eye. It scared me. He looked up what he needed in the book and assured me that there would be no permanent damage. The dentist is no longer in the area. Dr. Prins is a very good doctor and the staff in the clinic are friendly and efficient.

Following a positive Covid test, for weeks after feeling very tired, etc, and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Len Prins. He determined I had a high heart rate and referred me to a cardiologist. It was determined I had Afib, so I was prescribed medications.

About five days later on easter weekend, I received a call from Dr. Prins who advised me that he was checking my bloodwork and that the results exhibited an overactive thyroid and referred me to an endocrinologist. The gist of this comment is that when Dr. Prins contacted me, he was on vacation in Holland and felt the need to advise me of the results immediately.

Dr. Prins is a very efficient and caring Doctor.

This doctor's front line staff was an incompassionate and uncaring "firewall" to both my Dad's family Dr. Prinz along with his nurse. They insisted the only way Dr. Prinz would see my father as he was in his final stages was for him to come to the office. A dying man to come to the office. They "supposedly relayed" my father's poor health condition to the nurse and then insisted there would absolutely be no phone call, or home visit to assess and give advice to my father or family in his final stages. Dr. Prinz basically told my father a few months prior to his severe decline there was nothing more he could do for him and clearly "wrote my father off" I see and hear from others in the community of Ridgetown that Dr. Prinz did in fact make house calls for some patients to follow-up on palliative care patients and even administer pain medication if necessary. It appears from our family experience that father was considered a "waste of time".
The last few years, Dr. Prinz would ask my father "You again?" "What's the problem this time?" My Dad confided in me and told me he felt as though he was nothing more than a burden or "pest" to Dr. Prinz. My father was NOT a hypochondriac, far from it, yet, was made to feel nothing more than a burden to his family "Doctor" of nearly 30 years. What kind of community patient care is that?? Ironically, this Doctor along with his spouse who also practices as a doctor were supported by the community of Ridgetown years ago to pay for their medical education in return, to serve as doctors for that community and area.

Recently I had a health crisis and Dr. Prins was extremely helpful. I live in a different city, but he accommodated me by helping me over the phone and sending a referral to a specialist. On top of that, he called me twice to check in how I was doing. It's the kind of small-town care you can't get in the big city.

Prescription renewal is a problem. Their office is changing policy all the time and with very poor communication with informing patients of new procedures. The staff is not concerned at all about making things easier for patients to get prescriptions refilled. If I was paying money out of my pocket for their services directly I would have quit them a long time ago. I think the current political climate has much to do with ruining our medical services and it shows patients on a regular basis. He refuses to address more than one problem at a time. Always is a rush and seldom get to even state what my issue is unless I have it written down.
