I saw Dr.Riester only one time because my regular PCP was on vacation. I was taken in 30 minutes after my appointment time, only to find Dr. Riester to be very cold and abrupt, with a very poor bedside manner. She spent less than 5 minutes in the room with me, barely made eye contact, and seemed more focused on typing on the computer than addressing me. I felt rushed during the appointment, as if she felt I was wasting her time by being there. She didn't even give me a diagnosis...she simply prescribed an antibiotic and sent me on my way. I was so taken aback by her attitude that I didn't ask her any further questions because it seemed like she really didn't care. I realize different doctors have different personality types, and that not all are the going to be friendly, but I expect a healthcare professional to be attentive, courteous, and show some level of compassion for their patients. It is disheartening to see that some doctors just don't know how to show this respect.

Dr. Reister and her staff are efficient and prompt. She has actually called me at home in the evening to update me on results of routine medical tests. I believe she goes above and beyond for her patients.

I can't believe that anyone would give this doctor anything less than an excellent rating....She is just wonderful. I was referred to her by my PCP & am so glad. I am a mom with two kids who at the time were 6 and 6 months when I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. Dr Reister was knowledgeable & put together an unbelievable team consisting of the best dr's in the field (DR's . Randall Gaz, Barry Sacks, & Gilbert Daniels). She may not be warm & fuzzy, but she cares deeply about her patients & is great at what she does.

I am very please with Dr. Riester as my pcp, so much that an additional family member switched to her. Yes, sometimes she runs behind but I have never seen a doctor who didn't. I appreciate her personal calls with test results or to follow up (yes in the evening or weekends - who really wants to have a medical discussion at your desk in your office). She is through and very willing to provide referrals and additional tests and she chides me when I don't "follow the program". She is very knowledgeable and caring. She listens to my concerns and remembers details about my life that affect my health. I followed her to her current practice from the previous and do not regret it. I do not go to a doctor for "Warm fuzzies" but for their expertise and she is "spot on"! She also listens to your concerns and helps you to work through and try to find what will work for your situation. She also stays on top of her field (endocrinology), is great with diabetic folks & will take on insurance company

I just changed my PCP. No longer with Dr. Reister. I found her to be cold, uncaring, but most important not on top of her game- at all. Constantly had to say things like: "isn't this important?" Ex. I recently had heart/kidney problems. My bp went skyrocketing. I went into her office and she seemed so casual. I ended up in an emergency room where I was immediately given a battery of tests and needed medications. Honestly, I always felt I was the dr and she was some teenager I was trying to keep in line. Another example: I had to push to have meds adjusted as needed. Also, as far as general ck ups, I got the impression she really could care less when or if I ever came back. Never gave follow up appts. Messed up my prescriptions and didn't call in also. I spent so much of my time following up. Yeah she called at strange hours and technically knew her stuff, but that absolutely doesn't make up for her extreme negligence.

This MD is very intrenched in western medicine. Don't go to her if you are looking for alternative/additional approaches. No thinking outside the box. However, wihin the realm of her training, she was probably pretty close to top of her class.

Dr. Deborah Reister is very thorough . often too much to ones liking. She takes her time to answer any questions or concerns. I see as my GP and specialist and have been very satisfied with her expertise and care.

Sometimes she is late, but it is becasue she is spending time with people that need it. She does get straight to the point, so you do need to be prepared going in with what you want to talk about. I feel that this is necessary with any doctor. She calls you back HERSELF with test results if there is anything "wrong" or off and makes sure that you understand what you need to do. She is all business, but that is fine with me.

She is always late, not at all respectful of her patients' of staff's time. Little bedside manor, but more importantly doesn't check her own medical files to review medication prior to making changes. I believe a big part of this is that she leaves little time for each patient visit. My Dad just ended up in the hospital with a heart attack two weeks ago and the treating cardiologist indicated that the last 3 times he'd been rushed to the hospital was due to him being prescibed a medicine that had caused him past issues with his kidneys and high postasium. The doctor recommended my father not go back to Dr. Reister and we've since change to my own pcp. This doctor may have good credentials, but I wouldn't send anyone I cared about to her.

Dr. Reister has beeb fantastic with my wife and me. She calls back at all hours to check on you. I honestly believe some of the complaints about her are very too personal. She is very well informed about many areas on my health. She has made a world of difference to me; actually saving my life on a diagnoses.
