Dr. Vaz listens, cares, and follows up. My husband and I trust him.

Cowardice, weakness, ignorance, plus the complete failure to listen to, respect, give informed consent, or work with patient and family, are what you get when you have Dr. Vaz as your doctor. I am horrified at the treatment administered by him to my family suffering in the ICU. This doctor completely rejected well-known evidence-based life-saving treatment that was requested by the patient and family. Treatment that is safe, readily available, and used by top-level ICU doctors in other hospitals, saving thousands of lives. A highly toxic, experimental drug plus unnecessary invasive treatment was administered instead, without informed consent. Dr. Vaz has betrayed his Hippocratic Oath. Your loved ones are not safe in his hands. He should not be allowed to practice medicine. Please be warned.

Contrary to his advice, I refused open heart surgery. This made him angry. Angry!? Unfortunately I continued my referral to him instead of switching. After not seeing him for nine months (sic) I had declined in health enough to seek an interview. He offered no advice other than, "What did you expect?" I was too shocked to respond that I would have expected understanding and discussion of my decision, follow-up with appropriate medications, and counselling about conserving heart function. Not once did he mention food, work load, stress factors. "Accept surgery or you're on your own" was the underlying message. I'm responsible of course for the mistakes I've made, but one of them was accepting a referral to Dr. Vaz.

I had read that a person considered Dr. Vaz' receptionist curt and unfriendly. Contrary to this, we have been going to Dr. Vaz for many years and she is probably the most friendly we have ever met. She is always so helpful anticipating our needs. Dr. Vaz himself, is wonderful, caring, professional and always pleasant to us. We feel lucky to be a patient of his.

Doesn’t seem to know which medications interfere with others, ended up in ER twice because of this. Seems a little aloof at times.
