I think she is a very able doc but I've had enough of the sales end of things. The sale is the end goal and while I've been with her a while I won't be back. She costs more and the added value isn't there. It often seemed like the clock was running and then she was dismissing you. It keeps things punctual but people do come with questions.

I have been with Marlene for over 20 years now and have been taking my teenage son there as well. I have never had any problems with Marlene, the other doctors or the staff. However, once they moved into their new location and I came in for my eye exam I noticed that the cost had jumped from $80 something to over $120. Quite an increase for this single mum
. I shopped around and the general price for an eye exam ranged from $80 - 90 something. Since my insurance only covers a portion of my costs it may be time to look elsewhere.

Well after using Marlene for quite a few years. Had a bad experience at new location. I had arrived about a half hour early as i wanted to replace my broken glasses i had bought from them about 2 years previous(high index nikon lense and not a cheap frame). Walked through door checked in then was asked for credit card before exam yet i have insurance coverage they have billed in the past. I said i would provide c/c after exam when i was buying glasses. was promptly and firmly told "without the credit card info there is nothing we can do for you" I was horrified we have spent thousands with them and never had a payment problem. I left saying thanks for making me drive in from out of town. I phoned back and said have marlene call me.I suggested asking for payment after the service is performed. If someone has bad history of payment i understand but that was not the case. apparently i am the first one to have a problem with this...right. very good md. poor business practice.wont be back

I travel the 2 hours to go to her because of a family recommendation. I went to her for 4 years with no problem. Then I decided that with my son heavy into sports and generally being a boy, I would purchase his glasses in our home town. They charged $5 every time I went in for an adjustment and I was going in a couple times a week. I was still going to get my glasses from her office. She had quite an ignorant moment and told me not to bother coming in for eye exams in her office if I wasn't going to purchase glasses there. I tried to explaing the situation but she walked away from me. This all happened in the waiting room. I was horrified. I have continued to go back because I really find the staff polite and accomidating. I know go to Dr. Chow. She is wonderful.

They are running free sunglass for children under the age of five. Unfortunately i have to work on that day. Being a long time patient i asked if I could come the next day since i would be off. At first I was told I would have to have an appointment. Then when I pointed out that the add in the paper stated that no appointment was necessary they said it was only that day and hung up. Will be going to a new eye dr. I like her as a dr but have had enough of the staff. if they don't like their job then quit.

I just came back frm my appointment. I really like dr reiss but i also found she's more concerned about the sales on the floor. After having a bad experience with my last visit and booking the appointment with the staff i asked for my rx and she offered to have my glasses cleaned while i waited. It took a very long time for them to clean it and then they overcharged me for the visit. I won't be back wich is very sad since I do like her but dealing with the staff is not worth it...

I also had an incident in regards to this doctor making a scene in the waiting room when I asked to get the Rx. I felt horrible when she became very irritated and said to me that she did mind giving me a Rx as this is how she also pays for her overhead. I have not been back and its too bad because I really feel she is super optometrist.

Although she has a pleasant and friendly manner she does possess another side. Once when taking my teenage daughter for her checkup, I inquired about contacts for her (my daughter's suggestion). I wanted to know generally what the cost would be as this was a luxary in my books. After hearing her cost, I politely said "Thank you, I'll keep that in mind but I'd like to shop around and think about it". With that, she became incessed and very insulted. She told me that if I go to some where else, my daughter would not be getting the best care and then she went to the receptionist and told her to make a note on my daughter's file that there will be an additional surcharge of $25.00 on her next check up. I asked why and she said that now she won't know if I go someone where else and if she gets contacts that will affect her next check up. I still am confused on that. And this all happened in the waiting room! I was so embarrassed and me & my 4 kids never went back.

Wonderful, caring. Disagree about overselling. If you need glasses or contacts, after your appointment, she walks you out of the exam room over to helpful staff. This is a courteous gesture. I have asked for the prescription and have shopped elsewhere only to find that prices are no better elsewhere and service is poor elsewhere. My daughter even received the wrong presription elsewhere which caused headaches. Highly recommend Dr. Reise and her team.

She is way too eager to get your money. I went in a few years ago adn she told me to buy a certain type of contaact. She suggested I get monthly's as dailies would not "fit my needs". I went back two years later and she told me that dailies were the way to go. I told her that she said that dailies would not suit my needs and she basically called me liar. I will not be back.
