I have been a patient of Dr. Caplan for over 25 years! She is an excellent doctor who is constantly researching and advancing her skills. In 2011 as part of my physical, Dr. Caplan sent me for a routine mammogram and the results came back normal. When I went to her office for the results, she checked me again and felt a lump. She could have easily told me it was nothing, but she sent me back for another mammogram. This time, the results were breast cancer. I am eternally grateful to her for not taking the first results at face value, but trusted her instinct and knowledge to send me back for more tests. I highly recommend her to all my friends and consider myself very lucky to have her as my physician and holistic care. Thank you Dr. Caplan!!

My experience with Dr. Caplan at Vitality MD is excellent. She takes a holistic view. She listens and she has a thoughtful approach. I highly recommend her servicess especially if you have complex thyroid issues which are generally dismissed as normal again.

Went to Caplan for years. Then she started moving around locations. So I found another doctor. When I heard she was back in the neighbourhood (by calling her old location - no proactive contact on her part), I went to see her again for my annual physical. I was handed a bill for over $100. For what I don't know. I was also sold some supplements, which is fine. I would rather pay her than a health store. But, I just visited her website and it looks like her practice has become a commercial business. She's focussed on preventative, which OHIP does not cover, which is ridiculous. So if you want preventative care, I'm sure she's great. But she does take calls on your time - so if you don't like that, don't go to Caplan. I am fine with a good old fashioned doctor and will continue to see the new one I have.

I had been suffering from severe exhaustion after the birth of my son. I was looking for a specialist within the Bio Identical Hormone field. I did research and after a recommendation, came in to see Dr. Caplan. I was told on the phone that I would pay $100 or less dependent upon diagnosis, and that the fees would be covered by OHIP as Dr. Caplan is an MD. After an hour and a half discussing tests after test and supplement and much selling around her annual membership fee, there was no empathy and no caring for my condition. She also was not up on the latest research and other scientific analysis - she had no idea who her colleagues were in the field. Lastly when I left I was invoiced for $300, and when I mentioned that I was informed (twice after confirming) that the fees would be $100 or less, she stood between her two staff member while they were seated and pointed down at them and asked me to identify which had quoted me this. I refused. I was still charged $300.00!

This Dr is 100 per cent about the operating a business as opposed to being a medical practitioner. During my first (and only) appointment with her, she went through her "list of services" - what was and wasn't covered by OHIP. I felt like I was speaking with a general contractor. I was astonished that she took 3 PERSONAL CALLS during my appointment - ALL FROM HER HUSBAND! I thought I would die of embarrassment listening to her talk to her husband as if he were a young child! I could not believe that she kept answering his calls right in front of me - which took up 8 minutes of my alloted 15 minutes. After 15 minutes - she charges a fee of course! Very disappointing.

Dr. Caplan has been my doctor since 2001. She has been a constant in my life since then, and I value and respect her guidance more than almost any individual in my life. I could not have asked for more. I feel privileged to have her on my side.

Dr. Caplan was recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, it soon became clear that she was more interested in the "business" of medicine than the practice of it. She was close to an hour late to two of my first appointments, so she rates a two for punctuality. More importantly, however, Dr. Caplan shows very little compassion or empathy. After making me wait for almost an hour, she informed me of a fairly serious problem which she suspected and pressed me to make a decision (without being given enough information) because, as she put it, "her time is valuable." I have since found a very competent, knowledgeable and skilled doctor who is sensitive to the needs of her patients. Unfortunately, I cannot characterize Dr. Caplan or her "revolving door" practice in the same way. On the plus side, Dr. Caplan has a great business sense.

Dr. Caplan has been my doctor for longer than I can remember. Love her bedside manner. Very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Specializes in Gyn and Health/Wellness....highly recommend her.
