Rude and condescending person. Dismissed my extreme pain and refused me surgery. He pushed drugs on me instead of listening to my complaints. Turns out, when I finally did get the surgery, my uterus was stuck to the abdominal walls. Loads of pain. Once removed, pain ended.
He does not understand or respect the vulnerability of being a patient, a female patient. He has no business being a gynaecologist.

If you're willing to do exactly what he wants of you, sure, stay with him. But if you want to advocate for your body which is your right, stay away from him. Find a female OB/GYN. Go to another health system if you don't want to risk being his patient.

So I had been scheduled to have a c-section by another dr. Unfortunately my dr was away I got whatever dr was in call on the night of October 2 2021. We went into the ER. Procedure seemed to be going normal the. I felt I’ll they didn’t believe I had to say it several time long story short I ended up in a coma on a ventilator because during my surgery not only was my uterus destroyed as well as hemorrhaging. I also received multiple injuries ie: my bladder ruptured, I issue with my kidneys due to him suturing my ureter shut which caused poisons to go through a bag and end up wit tubes out my back for months and still almost 2 years later I’m suffering.

I wonder how other people give this him a 5 star.
He is so rude and lazy.

I will never ever go to this dr again.

He is so racist in her act and talk.

First question he asked me was “where are you originally from”? And then start making comment.
What does my visit have to do with where I come from.
He should really go through some therapy sessions.

He pushed the Lupron so hard and badly as if he has some problem with me.

I don't have enough words to describe my gratitude to Dr Leyland and his team, Dr Leyland is very Professional and he takes the time to listen, he explains everything very carefully and makes sure you understand, I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2018, after a while of taking different hormones to treat my endometriosis from other Doctors,I had to find a Doctor that would really know how to find the solution to my problem, that's when I found Dr Leyland and I called and got an appointment for February 2020I went to see Dr Leyland February 19 2020 he then saw my CT scan and he also did a an ultrasound at the time, he then recommended that the only solution was surgery, so I was booked for April 9 2020 but unfortunately it got cancelled due to the Pandemic, so finally a few weeks ago I got a call form Dr Leyland's office telling me that on March 8 2021 I would have my surgery done, and yes I was there on Monday morning and Dr Leyland removed all the endometriosis that I had but he had to perform a Hysterectomy due to my condition which it was very advanced , I am at home now recuperating and hopefully soon I will have my life back after been in bed with pain for over a year and a half, I cannot thank enough Dr Leyland and his team for all the wonderful treatment I've received from them, thank you again, Iole Last Freire. I cannot express my gratitude enough to this doctor and his team! From the beginning they treated me with kindness, respect and understanding! All are amazing but a special thanks to Dr. Leyland, Hanan and Hanna in the after care department. I had my surgery today and Dr. leyland and his team played me some good music while I had my arms endearingly and comfortingly rubbed by Hanan and another nurse, while they were administering my Anesthesia . Then in post care I was cared for by the sweetest nurse by the name of Hanna. She treated me like a dear family member. She cleaned up after me, made sure I was comfortable and was very patient, gentle and kind. My experience was absolutely exceptional and I only wish everyone could be as lucky as I was to have been cared for by such an amazing team! Sincerely, your floor ever great full patient, Violette Jouri

I saw Dr. Leyland because I had large fibroids that were causing me significant health problems. I was in and out of the hospital with severe anemia. We started several different medications that did not have phenomenal results, but anyone who is seeing a specialist without the expectation of trying medication is not being reasonable. When Dr. Leyland recognized that the medication was not as effective as it should be, he did not hesitate to prepare me for surgery. He scheduled me for a series of iron infusions and booked me for surgery within a month.
During my four hour surgery, he removed the largest fibroid that was impacting my bleeding and preventing pregnancy. He also noticed a lot of unexpected endometriosis and removed that too. He literally saved my life because I was very ill. I healed very quickly and was able to get pregnant shortly after. I now have a baby boy and it would not have been possible without Dr. Leyland. I see a lot of complaints in these reviews about his bedside manner. I think it's important to remember that he is a leading specialist in his field, but he's not a therapist. He may not hold your hand while you cry in his office, but he will save your life if you are willing to work with him.

I echo the comments of so many other women here who experienced Dr. Leyland as cruel, condescending, patronizing, and gaslighting. Judging by women's different experiences, I am wondering if his hatred of some of us is related to who we are? I am a feminist, queer, white, tattooed, no children, and have a a long history of depression and anxiety in combination with my endometriosis. This guy and his nurse told me my pain was in my head; that I was confusing physical pain with depression; that I should "take lupron" despite my knowledge of its risks and harms (class action law suits for causing disability!); that I should take folic acid regularly in case I ever get pregnant even though I said I would get an abortion if I got pregnant. He did an ultrasound while smiling at my pain. He told me has saw no Endo (hello ultrasounds don't show it). He wrote up that I was just really mentally ill and refused treatment options. I left sobbing. For reference, I have a PhD; I have a postdoctoral research job; I have probably read more in general and on Endo than this guy; I am strong. Despite these things, he still made me feel small and not believed. I left feeling awful for all the other women he would stereotype and hate and who would not be able to advocate for themselves. DO NOT SEE THIS MAN! My doctor wrote him a strongly worded letter afterwards about his misconceptions and judgments of me. If you are radicalized, poor, queer, or believe in abortion, this guy will probably act like you should get a lobotomy instead of giving you actual appropriate patient care.

I can't say enough about Dr. Leyland and his team at McMaster University. He removed endometriosis from my ovaries, bladder, urinary tract, bowel and abdominal wall and took the time to explain to my mom after surgery and to myself the next day. It's no trouble to tell his much he cares for his patients; he assured me as I was about to go under that he was going to look everywhere and that I was going to be okay. They even let me choose the OR music!
His resident, Dr. Jay, held my hand as I went under, and was just so sweet and calming. Dr. Wong couldn't have been more intelligent and helpful, and everyone else whose name I forgot, they were all just fantastic!!
His assistant Tanya has been an angel, I've never received such incredible care and attention from a clinic. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

This fool should not be called a Dr!!! He is a lazy, egotistical rude old man!!! ALL he will do is push Lupron on you. Which i blindly accepted. I told him I was having suicidal thought and broke down in tears HE SMIRKED and said I was over reacting. I left feeling worse than ever and hopeless. He has his faithful pet Annette call and say sorry on his behalf!!! HE IS A JOKE!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS MAN!!!!!!!!

He was my specialist for a while. Then he was suppose to perform a surgery on me but his "secretary" refuse to answer my calls, etc. I ended walking in to his office and confronting him about it. Then found another amazing gyn/ob to do it. I NEVER SEEN ANY DOCTOR PROTECTING HIS SECRETARY SUCH AS THIS. shame on Dr. Leyland
