It is very hard for a psychologist to please everyone. Most of my friends that have recommended Dr Dolyer to me think very highly of his skill.. He really helped our family survive a crisis. I understand he had a crisis of his own with a prior stalker who continues to try and write things about him to dissuade people from seeing him but I don't think people should go on these recommendations alone. He is very knowledgeable and skilled.

I do not recommend Dr Coyler. He met with me once & 3 times with my husband, Bob, before starting marriage counseling in 2000. He then refused to talk about family or marital problems. Sessions involved my husband sitting & observing while Dr Coyler "hammered me" to let Bob manage my business & financial interests - "just out of respect for my husband" - and to "save the marriage". He knew Bob had no business or financial expertise. The added stress of Dr Coylers harassment caused me to get physically sick and I caved. Bob started a take-over, and forced me out of our home. I had to file for divorce to stop the take-over. I still have no access to my own money for medical needs or with which to retain an attorney to sort out the business matters - and Dr Coyler has said he will not testify to what occured in his office. In an abusive & controlling relationship Dr Coyler did what no psycholigist should do.

Dr Colyer is widely thought of as one of the best psychologists in our community if not the whole state. From reading his reviews in this site and some others he apparently has a stalker who is bound and determined to do him "dirt" in the filthiest of ways. He said he had a stalker back 30 years ago in Washington DC that would write crazy things and is now on-line trying to destroy his reputation. Not much you can do about internet these days. My family certainly got outstanding treatment from him as has everyone I've ever sent to him (I'm the head of a large organization) and I can vouch for his integrity and knowledge base which we all have found to be outstanding.

I credit Dr. Colyer with saving my son's life and repairing our broken family. We are so very thankful for the help. My son had battled depression for years and finally he seems to be healthy and happy to be alive. The stress of this situation had strained my relationship with my wife as well. We too, sought Dr. Colyer's counciling and found it to be very helpful.

the problem with dr colyer is that when he makes such grave mistakes concerning his own patients, even if he doesn't acknowledge mistakes, he makes no attempt to correct the damage and at the very least leave people no worse off than they were before he wanted to play doctor. he views his professional status and position as little more than 'a job!' a job like clerking at 7-11 or mcdonalds maybe. he views, correctly, the personal destruction he causes as having no consequence + for him there are no consequences! like a store clerk he just punches the time clock at the end of his shift, closes the door and goes home never to consider the lives he has stolen and will never be recovered. 'from out of the blue on the wings of a dove a messenger comes with the beating of drums-it's not a message of love. our children are born and we keep them warm - they must have the right to live in the light - to be safe from the storm.'(d gilmour) psych 101 - the lesson lost on dr tom colyer.

Dr Colyer helped me several years ago through the end of my marriage and divorce. I saw him for about a year. I really appreciated his professional help and was able to recover and get into a healthy and happy relationship/ marriage. Thank You!
