Dear Dr. Macaluso, why did you retire and leave us in the hands of this new doctor. I know you needed to retire and enjoy life. But this new guy is horrible. Cares nothing for the patients, only about his medical licence. Does not investigate sicknesses or read your files. You were amazing and as a patient who has talked to other patients about all these things, just know you are missed greatly and you were amazing! The only thing I will Denise when I leave!

Dr. Macaluso has been our family doctor for years. He is very knowledgeable, understanding and patient. He takes time to look into a problem, never rushes. My family and I will greatly miss him when he retires. This type of doctor is quite rare nowadays as newer doctors are taught too much to "choose wisely" which is not always good for patient care. Dr. Macaluso takes time to look into problem, orders tests but manages not to waste any resources.

I have been a patient of Dr. Macaluso's for over 25 years. He is an amazing doctor. I have read most of the comments here, and I'm a little confused. He has treated my mother, brother, son and Grandson and I have never had any of these problems. Trying to call the office can take a bit of time, but I always get through the same day. He takes interest in my question and in my health. He always has time for my concerns. The one thing I love about him is he is not a pill pusher. He knows his stuff and if he doesn't, he will refer you to someone who does. I had a horrible pain in my side and back. I thought I had pulled a muscle. He sent me for x-rays, which showed nothing. The pain was still there so, he sent me to a specialist, who did a bone scan. They found out I broke a rib and separated my cartilage. This would never show on an x-Ray because of where the rib was broken. Needless to say, you can't do anything for a broken rib or for the cartilage, but had he not sent me to a specialist I would not have known what was wrong with me. He has many patients and sees as many as he can, after all there are only so many hours in a day. He has devoted his whole life to his practice and patients and you can see that by sitting in the waiting room watching people coming out with smiles on their faces. Most Doctors (as I know a few personally) will only allow you to ask one question or discuss one problem per visit, or time your visit right down to the minute. Most don't have any kind of bedside manner at all when dealing with patients. As far as him checking out as a doctor years ago, my rib happened about a year ago. So I think not. I wish people would remember, instead of criticising, that he is a person with a family I'm sure. Think and put yourself in the shoes of another man before you cast stones!

My father is currently in intensive care due to the mismanagement of his medical treatment. If dr Macaluso doesn't want to be a doctor then retire. You are hurting your patients with your lack of interest in their well being and resistance to refer to specialists and follow up on serious medical issues. Not answering calls is one thing but not following up on critical information is another. I am very upset over this blatant lack of interest in the health care of a patient. The issues my father is facing were all preventive. The treatment plan was beyond negligent . Again we can't change what happened but I will not sit back and have him affect other families because he checked out as a doctor years ago but still keeps showing up 1 day a week to work. If he can't be a full fledged engaged doctor then hang up your jacket. -- he is putting families at risk

Dr Macaluso has been my family Dr for over 30 years. He is very knowledgeable and takes the time to listen. He is also my daughters Dr and if anything comes up with her I am always seen right away. It does take a lot of patience to get through on the phone lines, but when you do get through the staff is always helpful.

Dr. Macaluso....LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS!!... open up your phone lines all day by hiring someone who does nothing but take phone messages for you because we your patients can not sit here for hours trying to get through to a line that is continually either busy or goes straight to voicemail and doesn't allow messages...that is absolutely absurd in today's modern world and frankly irresponsible too...

This doctor is wonderful !!!!! Several family members go to him and we all think that he is great. When my aging mother was seriously ill he came to our house to see her and do everything humanly possible to help her....... I think the quality of his help goes beyond the human level.

I've been trying to get a hold of Dr. Macaluso for a month JUST to get an appointment, and am always turned away if I ever do get in touch with staff (phone is either busy or nobody answers and they don't take voicemails). In the slim chance they answer my call, I'm always told to call back again and "be persistent". My problem is serious and needs to be addressed immediately, but I guess that's not his concern. I'm not sure why he even calls himself a family doctor if he can't even make time for his patients. I can't even rate his knowledge fairly because I can't get an appointment, so it's impossible to know! He could be a miracle worker...it doesn't matter how good he is because he's not available or helpful at all. I'm getting a new doctor as soon as possible.

Takes months to get an appointment! Nurses never follow up when they say they will. Although Dr. Macalouso takes the time to listen, and is extremely sympathetic, he does tell you "we will try this.." and then tells you to come back in 3-6 weeks...(when it takes months to get an appointment)
