My doctor for a long time and miadiagnosed my depression twice

Dr Malus is the worst doctor imaginable. He is difficult and argumentative, arrogant and in assisting. The receptionists are hit or miss, can be very rude but as well show glimpses of compassion. I repeat, Malus has no personality and no desire to assist his patients.

Dr Malus is my family doctor for 15 years already. My experience as a patient is very good. He always takes the necessary time to talk to me and review all my concerns. I am very happy to have him as my doctor

I was a patient of the previous Dr at this clinic when Dr. Malus took over. While I understand my issues were complicated and not very responsive to treatment, it doesn't mean they aren't real. It also doesn't mean I should be treated disrespectfully. Dr. Malus' first comment when he walked into the room was "If you weren't already in the clinic, I wouldn't take a patient like you.". As a family doctor, you can't pick and choose to treat only those that have measurable illnesses. There are many of us who have 'invisible' ailments that require compassion and care as well. Science/medicine change and new tests/treatments become available as new approaches are learned. Open mindedness is what makes a good doctor.

I agree with the staff but ony for the one older lady that basically hates the fact that you are there and make her work. The other ones are great so it's justThe luck of the draw. I find with crusty, if you kill her with kindness she comes around enough that you may even get a crooked smile out of her. As far as Malus goes I think a lot of the comaints come from the whiney always sick people that don't get the mess they are seeking. I love the fact that he doesn't just slap a prescription on you the second you walk in. When you are good with him he is good with you. Kinda how the world works, he just doesn't blow smoke up your you know what.

He's rarely on time. Miserable secretary who clearly insults/talks about people in the waiting room. Now that Malus needs to use a computer, you'd best hope that your ailment doesn't take more more than 30 seconds to diagnose. He's so slow in typing, and so paranoid that he'll go "over his time" with you, that he dismisses any concerns that you may have. Going in for WCB? Don't hold your breath. He REFUSED to fill in a WCB form for an injury I received on the job, leaving me to have to go to a physician found for me by my work. His excuse? WCB rarely pays him, so he'd rather not fill the forms out. The only consistent thing with Malus (aside from his poor attitude and poor punctuality) is that he'll tell you that "you'll heal in time" or "get better in time,"...and when you end up not doing so, you'll end up back at his office. Save yourself the trouble, find a new doctor. Dr. Malus has no regard for his patients and should just retire already.

I could not rate this doctor any lower. I have had numerous issues with diagnosis as well as unwilling to recommend testing for something 3 months earlier I absolutely had (so no need for testing then either)etc. I have found him to be rude, over-bearing and generally lacking a courteous and professional manner.

Since I too have a medical background, I appreciate his intelligence and knowledge. He is up-to-date on every medical test, forthright and honest in what he tells me. I appreciate that he doesn't over-prescribe either tests or medication. He is one of the smartest doctors I have ever met.

I have known Dr.Dale Malus since 1994. Although we have relocated back to Ontario, I could not let this opportunity pass me by.Dr. Malus was always very honest,understanding, helpful,etc. He looked after my 3 boys and my wife with the loss of our fourth child. He offered us his private home phone number, and even called and went to see my wife in the hospital,she appreciated that more than he knew. So as I read some of the negatives about Dr. Dale Malus, remember this he too is only human and not perfect. He also has only certain tools to work with,and overpaid people above him who call the shots. Our family truly misses the care he provided to us. If we ever relocate back to Calgary in the near future we will be looking again for his care. In fact I spoke with him a couple of years back, and he said if we ever came back, he would take us in a minute. We thank you to this day Dr.Malus, and miss you!!
