Dr. Ralley recently retired. I saw him for about 7 years and he helped me through a lot. He is an old school Freudian psychoanalyst and does not prescribe drugs of any kind, but rather uses the talking cure in a pure form. He could be a little quirky, and as others say, fell asleep from time to time (but maybe 3-4 times in 7 years), but he is a good guy and got me through some tough times. If you click with him, he'll do a great job, but I think you can say that about any psychoanalyst.

I was a patient for 2 1/2 years - he fell asleep during almost every session. I was too polite to tell him it was most inappropriate and ineffective.

This doctor is completely cold and UNPROFESSIONAL. I have a long history of DEPRESSION, and I was referred to him because I started having panic attacks (my former psychiatrist was no longer practicing in Toronto). During my third session, this doctor suddenly interrupted me, stood up, and announced to me that I DID NOT need his services!! He then walked over to the door, opened it, and asked me to leave. Apparently, I was wasting HIS time! I was so flabbergasted and shaken by this unprofessionalism, I left in tears. IF HE FELT I DID NOT NEED TREATMENT, HE SHOULD OF TOLD ME THIS IN A MORE PROFESSIONAL AND KIND MANNER THAN HE DID. Do not see this doctor. He might decide you are wasting HIS time too.
