One of the best neurosurgeons in the world, very skilled with great bedside manner. I was very happy with the outcome of my surgery. He is an aspiration for me and I hope I will be as good of a physician as he is, make a difference in people's lives the way he did for me.

I don't know how competent Dr. Fehlings is as a surgeon, but patient support is terrible. His office never responded to multiple voicemails. We only got a response (referral declined) when someone happened to pick up the phone. Four months wasted when we could have been looking for other solutions. If you're trying to get through, just keep calling and calling and calling. Voicemails don't work. Or find someone who cares about patients.

He saved my life. He is so good.

I see posts below that say he is narcissist. Does he have an ego? Yeah, a bit but, I want someone who is really confident, skilled in what they do, brilliant, personal, who has a great team working with him, control, expertise and being compassionate, all that to operate on me.

My neck surgery (C3-C5) was scheduled in the AM but there was a complication in a prior surgery which led to a backup to get into the surgical room for Dr. Fehlings surgeries. He came down to the preparation room at 4:30 PM ET and explained all of this to me. I thought he was going to reschedule the surgery (my worst fear).

He said "Listen, I know it is late (explained the complication) but we (meaning his team and himself) we're going through with the surgery. We don't have time to wait".

Next day he told me that he actually fused C3-C6. I broke my neck in 2006 and had C5-C7 fused anteriorly. One of the screws at the C5 was broken so Dr. Fehlings decided to fuse C3-C6. That is what brilliance does.

Kudos!!!

After living in pain for 18 months and with no help from multiple doctors I was fortunate enough to be referred to Dr. Fehlings. He was able to give me a diagnosis, a solution, a timely surgery all while being empathetic to the journey I had been on. I am not one to say this lightly but I am eternally grateful he came into my life.

I'm sure he is very knowledgeable but his bedside is poor and he was very dismissive. Seemed always in a rush and not very compassionate or informative about diagnosis, recovery and next steps. Seems like he just likes the actually surgical part and that's it, nothing more.

This is a five year anniversary following surgery for cervical myelopathy. The impact on my life has been remarkable. I owe Dr. Fehlings and his team a debt of gratitude.

Arrogant, poor mannered and narcissist. Rushed though surgery while complimenting himself as best hope on planet earth. Regretting and it only could roll back time from dealing with him.

You have been too warned!

Doesn’t understand the breaking science behind Craniocervical Instability and related problems as a result of other Connective Tissue Disorders. Considering Long COVID is causing these conditions to skyrocket, he’s going to harm many more patients in the coming years by failing to properly learn about the breaking science and refusing to refer them to more capable Neurosurgeons in the USA.

Anyone who blames Bilateral Stress Fractures and Scoliosis on Deconditioning doesn’t deserve to have a Medical License. Especially when we know co-morbidities to CCI like ME/CFS cause Oxidative Stress to the body and Mitochondrial Dysfunction, which causes sustained Collagen Production Issues. Mast Cell Activation can also worsen these conditions something that is often present with CCI, as the production of Tryptase is a Collagen drain.
