Dr. Altman was very pragmatic in his approach to diagnosing my condition; he was thorough in a manner that comes only from practical experience. Dr. Altman took time to listen and before finalizing my diagnosis, he ruled out all other possibilities. In my opinion and comparatively speaking, he is a very, very good doctor. Additionally, each individual I encountered working in his Arrowhead office was very good at his or her respective job, from the front desk to moving me back to an exam room and back around to my exiting the office. Great doctor and great practice.

His arrogance replaced any interest in actually providing me with the level of care his review had led me to believe. Despite trying to give him direct and simple information in regard to my symptoms, he chattered on about his situation and barely looked at my throat. After disregarding me completely for the main reason for my visit (painful red nodules in back of throat that were causing huge discomfort), I was dumped into "it's a sinus issue". Even though I felt like I had completely wasted my time and money, I still followed his treatment because I was hopeful; but 2 weeks later and I ended up worse. Feeling like I was dismissed and still needed a resolution, I called the doctor back. When I explained that I felt like my issue was not addressed at the appt. and that I was worse; all he could say was that he didn't expect that and I would need to come in again. I politely tried to inform him that my issue was not actually addressed and that I felt like he should take a more detailed look, but, I felt it unfair to charge me for another visit. He scoffed and said that it doesn't work that way. I don't know about you, but when I am trying to address a very specific issue and it gets ignored by a 'professional', the last thing I should have to do is pay again for you to actually do your job. Then he proceeded to tell me that he has been 20+ years in practice and "he didn't miss things". Final Results: endured through very miserable times while waiting the 2 months it would take to see him, felt totally disregarded at my appointment to get zero answers....NEVER going back, but still have same ongoing issue.

Outstanding. suffered with vertigo for 4 1/2 months. One visit to the office and came out a completely different person. Vertigo Gone. Amazing. Will recommend him highly.

He read my medical records from other doctors, and came to the expected news of needing surgery of the throat. After explaining some details about it, he offered me time to think about it. I elected to wait a while, but after a couple of months, his staff called me saying the doctor feels that I shouldn't take too long to make my choice. So I had it done that same month. The surgery was done in a hospital environment surgery center where I felt safe if any other condition arose. With 2 doctors in the operating room, the procedure went flawless. I came out feeling alright and slept that day away. On the 2nd day and thereafter, I had very little amount of discomfort! I am very happy with the outcome! He called me that next morning to see how I was doing and if I had any questions. I don't see any room for improvement.

Dr. Altman is knowledgeable, kind, reassuring, takes the time to answer all questions, and does not make you feel rushed. My only complaint is that I've had great difficulty scheduling a follow-up appointment (which isn't Dr. Altman's fault). The gentleman in charge of scheduling appointments has screwed up the date/time of my follow-up appointment on two different occasions - very frustrating.
