I read other reviews and don't know who they are talking about! He was nonchalant about my condition and after 6 months of no diagnosis I went to a different Dr and was diagnosed in one visit. I needed surgery! And Bredenkamp had wasted 6 months while I got worse and worse! But he collected plenty from my insurance! No bedside manner, terrible at explaining, and clearly not knowledgeable enough to diagnose my problem, much less treat it. I feel so fortunate that I changed doctors!

As the daughter of a doctor, I'm used to and expect the best possible care from doctors so I am incredibly picky about who takes care of me. Dr. Bredenkamp is one of the most thorough, compassionate, caring and confident doctors I have ever seen. He took tremendous care in answering all my questions and concerns prior to my complete thyroidectomy. 10 days after my surgery, I was back in with my daughter who had chronic tonsilitis and was suffering from huge kissing tonsils that were not responding to care that other ENTs had tried. He took amazing care of her as well and performed a tonsillectomy on her several days after our initial visit with him. Good thing as it turned out she had an abcess on one of her tonsils which would not have healed. I would highly recommend Dr. Bredenkamp. His nurse Irma is fantastic as well. She returned phone calls promptly and provided a wealth of information to me prior to my thyroidectomy and after during my recovery.

My son was diagnosed with stage 3 Tongue Cancer in March, 2009 and when I called Dr. Bredenkamp we got an immediate appointment. Dr. Bredenkamp made every other doctor, all the labs, and the different facilities give my son high priority. There were many procedures my son had to do before Kemo and Radiation treatment, such as root canals on teeth, pull a tooth, feeding tube in stomach, stent in chest, an exploratory operation and be fitted for head gear for the radiation. Dr. Bredenkamp pushed hard to get my son ready for treatment. Dr. Bredenkamp is such a good ENT that insurance companies send most of their ENT cancer patients to him. My son is a little over four years cancer-free and its all due to Dr. Bredenkamp's knowledge, speed of action, and unrelenting care for my son. Dr. Bredenkamp continues to care for my son and he is always kind, answers all questions, and is genuinely interested in any aspect of my son's well being. I thank my Lucky Stars for Dr. Bredenkamp!

Dr. Bredenkamp removed a massive tumor from my neck, what a life changer. He's very busy, sometimes it's hard to get an appointment with him, but that's what happens when you're a talented, sought after surgeon. Busy. He was caring, answered all my questions, was very knowledgable and sure was a life changer. Once he could see that the severity of my case, he went ahead and PLANNED AND CLEARED my surgery dates for me in advance to make sure I would be taken care of! 5 STARS!!

My father is a physician and he insisted that I go to Dr. Bredenkamp to have my thyroid removed. I'll admit, the front staff was pleasant but not super friendly, but the back office staff was fantastic. They answered any and all of my questions (and I asked a lot!). Dr. Bredenkamp, himself, was also very kind in answering my questions (I tried not to ask him too many, though). He's not a warm, fuzzy-type of doctor, but frankly that's not what I want in my surgeon. Yes, its important for a doctor to have a good bedside manner (and he does), but it is most important that they are extremely good at what they do. Surgery is no joke--I want the best. And I believe that Dr. Bredenkamp is the best.

My endocrinologist and primary care doctor referred me to Dr. James Bredenkamp for parathyroid surgery. I was informed that this type of surgery is highly technical with no room for error. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Bredenkamp during the initial consult and quickly understood why he was the first and only choice made by my referring doctors. Things are patiently explained in a personable and professional manner, which helped me understand my problem and why I needed the surgery. The surgery went very well with a great result. I highly recommend Dr. Bredenkamp and his excellent staff to anyone who is in need of ENT services. He is a brilliant surgeon; personable, comforting and a wealth of knowledge and skill. I am thankful that he was in charge of my plan of care.

Dr. Bredenkamp is a decent ENT. Not great, not bad, but OK. I came in for a soar throat and bloody nose. After performing a laryngoscopy, he told me there was nothing major going on, I just had clogged sinuses. But I do agree with what the patient above said - you kinda get the feeling like you are bothering him, doesn't like questions being asked, and isn't the most friendly guy

If he was the last Dr. on earth I'd go to a vet! Acted like we were bothering him, would not answer any questions, rude, nasty, in a big hurry, wanted to spend less than 30 seconds with us! Horrible! Would never recommend him to anyone ever! Couldn't figure out why we paid him at all or what we even paid him for, walked out of office with no results as if we had not gone to a Dr. at all. DON'T GO THERE EVER!
