I had scoliosis surgery at Special Surgery with Dr. Levine as my surgeon. A fabulous positive experience. Dr. Levine retired and put me in the competent hands is Dr. Boachie-Adjei. No one is like Dr. David Levine, but Dr. Boachie-Adjei has filled his shoes admirably. I feel lucky and blessed to be in the care of two dedicated professionals. Btw, The Hospital For Special Surgery is the bestest. Just ask my roommate who came from Brazil to be treated there!

Dr Boachie did an extensive surgery on me leving me with 37 pcs of hardware in my back. He did 5osteotomies (broke my back) then reSet. I have had pain now for 2 years , it was so extensive.he left my left leg very bad, complete nerve damages , edema ,and a constant compression devise is to be. Worn daily. Recently my pain is in both knees. I really thought the edema moved up from my feet...but I saw Boachie last week for my 2 yr visit. He said I had no edema, so what's the sudden horrible knee pain from? Can't get around .please help with any ideas . I'm Cindi

This humble man truly has the heart of a giant and the hands of a master. Our son has been forever changed as result of the two special attributes. Dr. Boachie has left an external scar while changing our sons structure with 20 some screws and two rods, all the while touching his soul and leaving a lasting effect on him as a person and contributing member of our community. Let me also say his main focus is his patient but he has great skill in comforting the loved ones of the patient. The most difficult time for us was when the wheeled our son off to the operating room we had a moment of fear which was washed away when we saw Br.B walk in behind him. Should you need a man like this consider yourself fortunate if he can be the one to navigate you through. Your child's life and your live will be for ever changed. We waited over three hours to see him and were told this was common and that we should just wait. While I understand that he has a tremendous reputation, the human touch was lacking in his staff. His examination was cursory at best, and he did not listen to the concerns we expressed. He was kind, but could not operate the viewing computer for the CT scan and dropped papers from my file all over the floor. In addition, the surgery could not be scheduled for months -- we chose another doctor.

Dr. Boachie is at the top of his specialty - namely pediatric and adult scoliosis correction and revision surgeries. In spite of his being the best, he is the most humble and compassionate physician I have encountered in many,many years. He takes on some of the most complex spinal cases, and has patients that come from all over the world seeking his expertise. Additionally, he is affiliated with a great hospital that specializes in orthopedic treatments.
