Nothing but a nightmare! I have to drive an hour to my appointments. He is never been on time even for the first appointment of the day and the wait is significant. You see him for 5 minutes and he seems not interested. He will refer you to what is convenient for him, not you. Unless you ask, he will not tell you anything. His office, despite paperless, is notorious for loosing results. I had to go to the lab to get my results and never got other results. Unless results are in his EMR, he will not attempt to get them and has a don’t care attitude. His staff is very rude also. Now he is refusing to renew blood pressure medication I had for 5+ years without changes. I am unable to go see him, taking 3/4 of a day for a 5 minute appointment for a script but he does not seem to care.

The staff are rude and condescending to you on the phone. He has a new policy now that you have to make an appointment in order to get refills for your medication. I can see how in some cases this is required but i'm not on pain killers or anything of that matter. It's torture trying to get refills on my blood pressure medication. I call for an appointment and they have nothing for weeks on end and the staff will NOT do anything they'd rather you went without crucial medication than try and squeeze you in or just fax off a refill like most Drs do these days.

The receptionists under Zalter are exceptionally terrible, rude, and condesending. They have never once been helpful or polite in the 8 years ive been unfortunate enough to be stuck with them. Really sucks that there are extremely limited options and, Im not sure which receptionist it is, but she will literally lie in an attempt to get you off the phone quickly. I rarely bother making appointments anymore as, they have not one time, proven to be helpful, and its extremely frusturating that people like this are able to stay in business simply because of the lack of resources and or personell. Shame and complaints, however, lie mostly with the receptionist. Terrible people

Dr. Zalter expresses a disturbing lack of compassion for human suffering. Unfortunately I was stuck under his care in an incredibly vulnerable state due to my health. My mental and physical health has certainly suffered as a result. I would urge anyone considering seeing this doctor to look elsewhere. He is unprofessional, uninformed and believes his patients to be beneath him. He does not understand the scope of his own practice.

Doesnt seem overly concerned with helping with the root of the problem. Often has displayed lack of concern and has never shown compassion or sympathy when it comes to addiciton issues. Wish I had a different option when it comes to family physicians but I am stuck with him and my healthcare has suffered as I rarely make appointmemts to go see him as it usually turns out to be absolutely pointless.

Rude, condescending receptionists, whether on the phone or in the Dr's office, they interrupt you when you're trying to explain something. They also failed on more than one occasion, to recognize "Doctor /patient CONFIDENTIALITY by inquiring about the reason for my appointment. SHE took an attitude when I reminded her about said clause & tried to treat ME as if I'M in the wrong. I think it's time Dr. Z. was brought up in front of the Ontario College of Physicians & Surgeons. As for the woman, who's son died of an overdose because of Dr. Z. my sympathies & I hope you've contacted a lawyer. A lawsuit should be brought against him for his negligence.

Dr. Zalter has been my primary family doctor for many years. He is an excellent doctor and never rushes through appointments. I highly recommend him

I have to agree with many of the comments regarding Dr Zalters so called bedside manner
I only go when it is absolutely necessary due to the fact you usually leave worse than when you walked in. He has never really seemed careing and usually has a comment of age related problems . If he's not on holidays he has a wait time of at least a week before you can get a appointment. There is a lot more I could add to this review however due to trying to find a family Dr that can take the time and listen to your situation Iam apprehensive to say anymore until I can find a family Dr that really wants to help and can listen to your situation.
