I too found Dr. Black to be rude at times. When someone does not agree with her she can become almost hostile. Despite the fact that I had an uncomplicated pregnancy, she kept pushing for induction at 36 weeks! When I said no, she told me that the reason she wanted to start induction was that she would go on holidays the following week! I insisted on NO, but she kept bringing it up. My labor was uncomplicated, I saw her only for 10 minutes. She found that I was not completely dilated and started a Pitocin drip. Five nurses including a mid-wife and a head-nurse shook their heads and told me that I was indeed dilated and I was ready to start pushing. When the contractions started, Dr. Black changed her mind and stopped the pitocin messing up everything (baby was ok). Finally, at +2, she insisted on a C-section! I think she just wanted to go home. Her obsession with C-sections is something by the way. I had a c-section with the baby at 2.5! This doctor is far too busy for good care.

Delivered both my kids (1991, and 1993). She was AWESOME!!! Both deliveries were natural, and she was there!! She also did a complete hysterectomy on me (2005). I find Gail to be a wonderful, caring, Dr. I would highly recommend her to my friends and family!!

Dr. Gail Black has cared for me for my pregnancy with my two children (natural births - she delivered one of them and was FANTASTIC)and through my missed m/c (performed a D&C). If you want a Dr. who KNOWS what they are doing and you can RELY on in an emergency, I would recommend her HANDS down! If you want someone who will hold your hand and focus on making you feel good, you should look for someone else. She is a FANTASTIC OB/GYN!!!! I will keep going to her for as long as I need OB/GYN care.

Dr Black is BY FAR the best doctor I have ever seen! She is caring, considerate and even personally left the OR to tell my husband what was happening, knowing full well she would have to re-scrub to go back in! She delivered my son and probably saved my life by doing the emergency c-section. She was personalble, calm, relaxed, funny and VERY professional. She calmed me right down and literally held my hand while I was put out as my husband was not allowed in. The wait times at the office are perfectly fine. In 9 months I never had to wait more than 1/2 hour. She delivers babies, they come at their own time!! Find ANY OB's office where you dont wait! I would reccomend her wholeheartedly!! She is fantastic!! And so is her assistant Brenda!! Funny and relaxed! A great team!

Was on board, originally, for my VBAC birth of my second child and abruptly changed her mind - with nary a reason - and was adamant about booking a scheduled c-section at my 37 week appt. Even when the nurse encouraged me to push during delivery (the next week) Dr Black was still insistant that she book the OR. Despite her reservations, I pushed my baby out while she chatted about her hair appointment, wondering if she was going to make it. She is so discouraging to women wanting a natural birth! I will NOT go back to her when we have our third! She is very c-section orientated. Her staff (the nurses, not the other DR's) are AMAZING. Sandra the nurse is wonderful!!

She was my doctor for my first 2 children. Then she moved to the MIS and it was too long a drive for me. Over all, she was terrific. Very patient and comforting as I was a young mom back then. She answered all my questions and I loved it when she'd cross her legs to chat with me. She never made me feel rushed in my appointments. She also made sure she complimented me on my "improved" looks after pregnancy... but I'm sure she meant it to take away any insecurities. Definitely recommend her.

Was my ob/gyn with my first child, had my second with a different doctor having moved. They told me when I had my second that she did the stitching too tight on the episiotomy which is why there was tearing with the second. Was disrespectful to my husband and not considerate at all.

I truly believe she knows her stuff, but she didn't provide the attention I needed during my sons delivery. Instead, she made an error that resulted in a serious infection. The worst part is that she didn't address the issue and only apologized when I confronted her about the problem.
