Dr. Sutherland has saved my dad who had brain bleeding. He is kind, knowledgeable and caring. He relieves dad's anxiety prior to the surgery telling dad that there are two people on his team speaking Dad's language. So thoughtful and caring! Dad has mostly recovered thanks to Dr. Sutherland and his team.

Sort of a silly man, by my estimation, and in spite of his vaunted reputation as a surgeon. In talking to my family about my brother's diagnosis and prognosis, he failed to address anyone but my younger brother. More importantly, when asked whether the patient's previous brain-injury might have played a role in the development of glioblastoma, he replied that there was utterly no correlation (something I've learned since is false). To make matters worse, he offered that the likely cause was "cosmic radiation."

Dr. Sutherland safely removed pituitary macro adenoma for me. It was trans sphenoidal using the advanced robotic system called neuro Arm, guided by 3-diamensional MRI, innovated by himself at Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary Ab. We, residents of Alberta,, Canada we are lucky to have Dr. Sutherland here in Calgary, I have been feeling like I am blessed to be on his hand. He is helpful and kind in a professional manner.

Dr. Sutherland removed a pituitary macro-adenoma for me and couldn't have been more professional. I'm glad to have him as my Neurosurgeon. He's professional and to the point yet remains extremely caring in a professional manner and ability to explain the whole process in layman terms are exactly what I needed. Dr. Sutherland is a knowledgeable and caring man with plenty of experience in his field. I have had several appointments, telephone and in person, with him, and a couple of surgeries as well. He was helpful with most questions and generally took any fears or concerns seriously which is not something that I personally can say about most medical professionals I’ve seen. I would certainly recommend seeing him.

I'm coming here almost 5 years after my surgery to say that this man saved my life and I owe him everything! At 22, I had a cyst in my spinal cord at L2. It had been overlooked by my family doctor for 10 months. If there had been a 2 month longer wait, I could have easily been paralyzed. Dr. Sutherland got me into surgery within 48 hours and did such an incredible job, that 1 month after surgery I was able to return to work and 6 months after surgery I was living a 100% normal life again.
