She doesn’t even deserve a 1.
Completely insensitive, unprofessional, unethical. She should have already retired. Presents herself as though she hates her job. A disgrace to the medical profession. How did she graduate & get her license. If she doesn’t know or rather cannot diagnose you, she accuses you of either lying or having mental health issues & acts as though she’s a shrink. What a quack! I wonder who is writing all those excellent reviews!?

Patronizing, angry toned, demeaning behaviour and a bad listener. Sees you more as a subject who should obey her orders than as a patient with a mind, Gets angry with a threatening attitude if you try to participate in your own care and if you ask questions or do research and ask her opinion about it, prefers that you do not have any ideas about what might be happening in your body and do not discuss the possibilities that come into your mind and just obey what she tells you blindly, She seems not to know that it is a patient's decision to go through a treatment plan and tests or not! She also gives you wrong/incomplete information and expects you to just believe it and then if you go and find out more about it and decline something she suggests she treats you with disrespect! I regret trying so hard to get an appointment with this woman, I have never had any doctor who was that arrogant, narrow minded and angry toned, I always read a lot and discuss my care and concerns with all my doctors, and they have always been very welcoming of that. If they don't agree they politely explain why, and offer alternatives or decline politely. That is called bed side manner and to be frank just normal human civility that this person seriously lacks. This was one of the most awful experiences I've ever had with any doctor.

Totally dismissive, not pleasant, offered no solutions and refused to answer any questions.
I can’t believe she got paid by OHIP for my appointment. Not to mention she was coughing a lot in the hallways and even double checked if everyone was double vaccinated as if she knew with her symptoms she shouldn’t have been there.

Save yourself time and avoid at all cost. If you do go and don’t get your questions answered know that it’s not just you and others have had the same issues here.

I had an awful experience with this doctor. I saw her for unexplained hip/back pain and a loss of mobility. I cried during the physical exam because of how much pain I was in. This led her to conclude that the pain was in my head and I was just anxious. She told me to see a therapist and refused to order any diagnostic tests.

I got a second opinion from another doctor and went for an MRI of my hip. Lo and behold I had a tennis-ball sized tumour growing out of my hip socket into my pelvis pressing on my sciatic nerve. Because of her refusal to treat me, my cancer diagnosis was delayed by two more months.

And you know what the worst part was? My family doctor freely admitted that she missed the diagnosis and apologized and that was fine, I understand. Dr. Mailis sent an ass-covering letter BLAMING ME for her missing the diagnosis because I was 'too hysterical to be examined'. I'm pretty sure anyone with a hip tumour would cry during a physical exam. Avoid her at all costs.

Awful awful awful, cannot say it enough. The nastiest "doctor" I've ever met. Brought my step-dad in who was at death's door, not eating, hardly able to speak, isolating himself in his home, with tremendous trigeminal neuralgia pain. Came to see this "Dr." Mailis desperately needing help. She hopped up and sat on the patient bed and proceeded to tell him that he didn't have the right type of pain, and then when we tried to explain, she argued with him about what kind of pain he had. Unbelievable! Totally discounted everything. Refused point-blank to refer us to neurology at Western General for further assessment. She gave no solutions for the pain AT ALL, just a kick in the behind, and get out. We left there feeling like a couple of shamed, scolded dogs. Thank goodness we were able to bypass her and get a referral to neurology from someone else. The surgery was life-saving. Many years later he is still alive and kicking. Avoid this "doctor" at all costs.

Dr.Maillis was and always will be my Guardian Angel, my Saviour. October 6th, 2010 I had an accident at my workplace which left me injured to my right dominant hand. My hand was swollen and turning dark blue. I had lost ALL circulation. Dr. Maillis swiftly took action and saved my hand from being cut off. I have a permanent disability and yes I have pain everyday BUT I still have my hand and I was able to go back to work for another 8 years. I retired 1 1/2 years ago. I didn't complain. My brother was on dialysis for 3 years with over 18 operations, his wife left him for another man, he lost his house, the family business and most of all he didn't get to see his kids grow up in 7 years. Pain??? I brought my brother to live with my family. It is heartbreaking to read any negative comment about Dr.Maillis. I am eternally grateful to Dr.Maillis for directing my thoughts & emotions differently and for giving me the courage to continue going despite my daily limitations.
Nerve damage & pain are so complex but so are so many diseases.

Shame on this doctor who supports GP with NO surgical experience to be allowed to do surgeries, this doctor wrote a report to support DR Kenneth Uffen, some 2 years after the assault claiming I had "Anxiety" perhaps the righteous DR Malis can explain how she can write a report and for the CPSO for willing supporting Criminal FRAUD.....What does Anxiety have to do with a DR who claims he is a surgeon.....and turns out to be a FRAUD.....

Shame on the Professional Conduct Board in this sorted affair.

This doctor get paid to eliminate complaints by any means necessary including Criminal Fraud....

You Dr Mailis also supported Dr Allan Gordon a few years later and willingly engaged in Criminal Fraud......

There is a obvious patter which is hard to Cover up....

Dr Allan Gordon has not only lost his license, he has been charged and there is a few more charges to be laid....

You are not above the Law and as you have seen

I had a horrible experience seeing this doctor. I only found out after this appointment of so many other people going through similar experiences. She did not take my chronic pain seriously. She disregarded my concerns and had demeaning behaviour. The staff was good except for the student she had (she's his mentor, imagine). Please update your studies and find compassion for patients.
