My mother was in emergency and mentioned how Dr. Lapp stood out particularly as thoughtful, thorough, knowledgeable and caring. She wishes he were a family doctor still, but it seems he only works in emergency.

Worst experience with this man. During the time I encountered with him he was not helpful , dismissive , not discreet , and in general I felt like he had a lack of knowledge. I am surprised he became an ER doctor ... hopefully his bedside manner and skills have improved but was not impressed with his practice in the past. I wish him.the best but if I had to encounter him again I would just request someone else.

Dr Lapp did an amazing job of treating my crushed and mangled finger after a work place injury.
Not only was I impressed with how he was able straighten out the crushed bone in my finger tip and stitch it up beautifully and almost painlessly but so was every health care professional that I have dealt with for followups.
This included another doctor that inspected the finger a couple of days later as recommended by Dr Lapp, a plastic surgeon as well as a physiotherapist who was also an assistant Clinical professor at McMaster University.
The finger is healing beautifully so far and I'm confident it will be good as new soon.
Dr Lapp his associates had me in and out and back to work in 4 hours including, assessments, tetnus shot, x-rays, freezing, several stitches, WSIB forms, perscriptions for pain and antibiotics.

I found him friendly and very knowledgeable. He took my symptoms very seriously. I know the waiting time was long but that is par for the course at ERs everywhere and it can’t be helped. It’s the system not the Doctor.

Back in June of this year, I had my mother drive me to the ER in the early hours of the morning on a Thursday, as I was experiencing the worst abdominal pain I had ever had in my life. I have polycystic kidney disease, so it could have been something related to that, but I had not had an issue in years, so I couldn’t be sure. Upon arrival at around 6:30 am, the nurse taking my vitals, blood, and urine, I waited to be admitted to a bed. As I sat in the chairs, doubled over and totally nauseated by the pain, my mother could see how awful I felt. The pain was also in a specific area, so I was concerned it was appendicitis. My mother expressed this and my immense pain to the nurses multiple times, each time receiving a reply along the lines of “if it gets to that we will deal with her”. When I finally did get in a bed and got to see a doctor around 8:30, Dr Lapp came to see me. I explained my symptoms and history, answering his questions thoroughly. He told me it is likely not appendicitis, and that he would order an ultrasound to see. I was then sent to a different waiting area for patients and kicked out of the bed I was in. I waited 7 hours for my ultrasound. After the long wait and coming back to the ER to wait for my diagnosis (which was another 2.5 hr wait) Dr Lapp finally saw me again. He jovially and jokingly apologized for how busy it was which my mother and I did not find funny at all. He concluded that from looking at my multiple tests that a cyst on my kidney had probably just burst, as my pain had subsided by then. He sent me home without any concern or prescription. All of this waiting and confusion, then lead up to two days later when the pain came back. My mother and I went back to the ER. The pain was worsening by the minute. I gave the nurses a urine sample and I ended up passing a kidney stone to my painful surprise. Showing this to the new doctor, and talking to a health professional in my family, I learned that it is very simple to diagnos a kidney stone, as you can usually see it on the ultrasound and/or detect it in the urine sample. It is ridiculous that a doctor missdiagnosed something so simple, and had someone wait all day, just to get a wrong diagnosis. If I ever have to come back to the Oakville hospital I will avoid Dr. Lapp if I can!

I waited 6 hours in Oakville Trafalgar Hospital Emergency Dept. on Dundas St. so that my 40 year old daughter could get her prescription pills which are a recommended treatment for opiate addiction renewed. I had photos on my phone to prove that this was her regular prescription. She had missed her regular appointment with her doctor and she had not taken her medicine for 4 days and she was in withdrawal. Dr. Lapp, the only Dr. in the Emergency at the time did not look at her in 6 hours and when I approached him, he told me to speak to her nurse. This doctor showed no sympathy at all for a patient who is trying to wean from opioids that were prescribed by doctors two years ago for pain after surgery. This doctor has no empathy at all.
