The office staff at Dr. Abularrage's office is lacking in professionalism and office skills. The office manager, Angie, is extremely rude and quite incompetent. I am at a loss as to the reason why when they collect cash for the co-pay, a receipt is "not" immediately given. One has to ask for a receipt and, at times, will be told to "wait" for the receipt while they check in another patient. Maybe the IRS should be informed of this.

Every time that we visit Dr. Abularrage's office, he treated us as family, and he performs his job at best. I would recommend him to my friends and family. The only down side to his office, that there is always a unexperienced new employees that still learning how to perform their job.

First to make it clear I rarely write reviews, for me to take time out to write one it is important. Avoid this office like the plague. I don't question our doubt Dr. Abularage's knowledge. But you spend the least time with the Dr. and more dealing with staff. The office Manager Angie is so rude and no people skills (feel like you are at the DMV). She was the primary reason we left, she brought unnecessary stress on us. All the other reviews are exactly on. All they care about is the copay/copay/copay. You visit the Dr than he will tell you to come back and see me at this date and pay again (almost seems illegal what they do). When we left we paid to have the records transfered to the new Dr., they never did it and than lie to our face saying they did it. There is no shortage of good doctors in NYC area, please avoid this one. I am considering writing to the NY board on this one. Dr. Sinesi is great but he does not run the show unfortunately.

Dr. Abularrage is never punctual, will not talk to you on the phone; always rushing through the appointment not letting you ask all questions you have; pushes follow up treatment with no purpose, he is superficially nice and has an undercurrent lack of interest in the true health of your child. He has been my son's dr. for 5yrs, and he never remembers him or us. He lacks warmth, bedside manner, listening skills...he always rushes because he only cares about being on time. He only recently began to say hello to my son, before my son was treated like a wallflower. Most of all I can't stand Angie, his office manager. She's mean, intimidating, and treats you like a child if you don't follow their rules strictly. They are very anal about office procedures. The office is organized, I must admit, but the organization is just to make sure that they schedule as many appointments/follow up, as possible.. While his qualifications are stellar, the man is all about his own ego.

While his qualifications are stellar, that is where it ends. The man is all about his own ego. He won't get on the phone with you either. Angie is awful. Staff is awful. Go somewhere else.

Stunned by the negative reviews of Dr. Abularrage. My kids have seen him since birth and he has help us out of some tough medical problems, sent us to the best specialists, and now that the kids are over 21, they still see him, by their choice. He's the best of the best and we love him and are thankful for all he has done.

Dr. Abularrage has been my son's dr. for 7yrs, and he never remembers him or us. I chose him because he was rated one of the best drs. in nyc in the ny magazine. And I continued to go to them because I can make weekend wellness appnt very easily w/ them (other pediatrics only offer sick weekend hours). However, as the years went on I knew I was missing something in this dr...it was warmth, bedside manner, listening skills...he always rushes because he only cares about being on time. He only recently began to say hello to my son, before my son was treated like a wallflower. Most of all I can't stand Angie, his office manager as long as I've been there. She's mean, intimidating, and treats you like a child if you don't follow their rules strictly. They are very, very anal about office procedures, to the point it seems like I'm in some kind of boarding school from the 1920's. I wish they would concentrate more on customer service. On the other hand, his partner, Dr. Sinesi is amazing.

Not a good doctor at all. Since leaving his practice, our toddler-aged daughter was immediately diagnosed with a somewhat serious condition. A condition that was confirmed by multiple doctors with a degree of seriousness that they all concurred is avoidable and routinely diagnosed at birth by most pediatricians. At first we were angry but it really is just sad more than anything else. Sad that a doctor who promotes his reputation in NY Mag and as the Chairman of Peds at NY Hosp has no contact with the reality of 21st century medicine. We recommend him for a common cold or if you need height and weight recorded or vaccines. If you need a pediatrician you really should find another doctor. He is all about promoting his status at the hospital across the street - an inferior borderline third world facility BTW- rather than diagnosing and treating children proactively. A nice man with adequate bedside manners but just too far below the curve of medical intellect.

Pushes unnecessary treatments without looking at risk factors so he can charge. Pushes follow up treatment with no purpose. I would advise against selecting him. Not punctual. Need to constantly watch out for his billing practices. Average health advice. Easily flustered if you study problems and treatments and ask anything beyond basics. Superficially nice and has an undercurrent lack of interest in the true health of your child.

Hmmm... I have been going to him for 20 yrs and i can say BLAH... ANgie is rude, so is his staff and, He seems as if he is in it for the money. One time i went to him with a sore throat and he told me everything was fine. I had to tell him my throat was sore for him to realize that I had an infection and for him to request a troat culture.
