When Monica Pearl sent her Nth letter raising fees and asking her patients to "help build the business", and Botox ads in her waiting room replaced art or relevant medical information, it became clear that the profit motive had replaced the Hippocratic oath. Regarding specific breaches of trust, of which there were several, I'm still considering whether to write to the CMA. Some staff members were super, others were pretty dreadful, so it's hard to rate.

In my opinion, this doctor had an arrogant and uninterested demeanor. Furthermore, I found she had a dismissive attitude regarding presented concerns. I am extremely pleased with my new physician and wish I had not waited so long to make a change.

Dr. Pearl has been my Dr. since 1994. I would tend to agree that she shows little concern or interest and can seem impatient and sometimes rude. Yes, she is prompt but I get more interest from the guy at the shoe store than from my physician. Is it wrong to expect a little more from the person whose hands I place my life in. My annual physical has never taken more than 10 minutes, even though I typically have to wait for 3 to 4 months for the appointment. I just don't feel as though my health is being "managed" or monitored. I have realized that I need to educate myself so that I can ask the right questions, in the most succinct way, so that I can get some answers before she bolts out of the room leaving me with that familiar "brushed off" feeling. I haven't been happy with Dr. Pearl for a long time and really need to find a new Dr. but haven't been able to yet. Can anyone someone in Oakville? FYI - I am not a chronic complainer and I've never done this before but felt compelled.

I have been going to Dr Pearl for about 15 yrs. She is not "touchy-feely" which may be why she has received negative ratings. My experience with her has been excellent and I appreciate her no-nonsense approach. What people should know is that she is smart and gets to the point quickly; to some, that may seem cold and unfeeling. To each his/her own! What matters to me: she is very well-connected and if you require a specialist, you will be referred to the best in the business. I don't need my doctor to hug me; I have my family to do that!

I am a physician as well. Dr. Pearl is my family doctor and does an amazing job. I would caution any readers about using this site as a means of assessing their doctor. From what I see, the people that take the time to rate their doctors are usually the few unhappy patients. The thousands that are happy do not bother to do so. How many times have your written complaint letters to various companies because you were so upset at poor service? How many times have you written letters to a company because you were so happy. Think about it. It's human nature. You should be your own judge.

Dr Pearl has been my doctor since 1992. I have seen her for numerous minor to life threatening conditions that she has always been able to identify and deal with successfully. Over the years she has been very efficient and compassionate, and always on time. I have never had to wait for more than 5 or 10 minutes from my scheduled appointment. You cannot ask for a more intelligent physician with up-to- date techniques and medicine. She is terrific!

Has been my family doctor for many years and I admit I have noticed a change in her attitude as a doctor. I have considered changing physicians but have not quite decided. You have to be assertive with her and proactive - she doesn't even pretend to be particularily interested in her patients. Too bad - years ago she was a pretty good physician.

During a three month period in which I spent almost 2 months in hospital following major surgery with side effects, this doctor NEVER called, visited or showed any interest in me or my condition. When I saw her after my release from hospital, she showed no interest, compassion or caring. She did not even ask how I was feeling! Amazingly, she categorically refused to take responsibility for monitoring weekly blood tests even though the hospital had specifically requested this. She comes across as very abrupt and cold. I would NOT recommend her as a doctor for anyone.

She doesn't seem to care much about her patients. I had to do a ton of research (for months) to diagnose myself before she would finally agree to send me to a specialist who then confirmed my diagnoses. And while giving me the referral she rolled her eyes.

Dr. Pearl always rushes through her appointments. With my children she doesn't even take the time to look at her chart to see what their names are and just refers to them as "the baby". She's cold and unfriendly. She was unable to diagnose one of my children with a life long disease. She was dismissive and it took several visits with me insisting that something was wrong before she referred me to another doctor. She's fine for adults who can explain whats wrong with them but I would not recommend her for children. She doesn't have the time or patience to deal with them.
