Just outright does not listen to me. Agreed that I had symptoms of ASD, but refused to give me an official diagnosis that might have helped me get accommodations until I agreed to let my MOTHER come in to an appointment and repeat all of the criteria and problems I had mentioned, along with more than a few complaints of her own. I am in my thirties, this was the most humiliating experience of my life. Every time we meet I have to explain my entire life story all over again, upon which she just tells me to get more exercise and book another appointment.

I have had the privilege of being under Dr. Appavoo’s care for the past five years. She has been exceptional. She is always professional, is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and respectful. I always leave an appointment feeling listened to and validated. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is struggling with their mental health. My life continues to improve under her care.

I am a Psychologist and have been referring patients to Dr. Appavoo for several years. She is thorough, does an excellent assessment, works very collaboratively with me, and most importantly the feedback from our mutual patients has always been positive. I can't honestly comment on her staff but I trust my patients with her and would recommend her without hesitation.

I have been seeing her for a few years now. And I am becoming increasingly frustrated with the deteriorating care. The appointments are supposed to be 30 min long. Mine have been averaging about 20 min. The last few have been just over 15 minutes.
She is unwilling to address concerns with medications.

She's terrible. I went to her for meds for several yrs. She simply never understood my waorld or my concerns. In addition, she had me on a medication that was not appropriate. My current psychiatrist can't figure out why she prescribed it. Keep as far away from her as you can.

The staff was okay but Dr Appavoo was late for every session we had. She was unprepared every time we met and ended each session early. She was not helpful at all and I felt totally disrespected as my time was not seen as valuable. Her office staff was polite but she caused me more anxiety than helping me.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Appavoo for several years and she is very good. Some of the comments here are perhaps misguided - pdocs are not therapists and they don't deep dive into very personal issues. She is a good medical specialist with the focus on the objective part of health and how well your body/brain is functioning. In my experience, she is very good at figuring things out and identifying changes you can make in your day to day and trying medications to find ones that can improve day to day functioning. Very patient with my ongoing struggle to maintain a good routine and very experienced in suggesting practical strategies for managing major events and self care. Also, there have been a number of times she’s mentioned a new study or conference she’s just come and new ideas so you can be sure her knowledge is leading edge. It’s clear she cares about my wellbeing and is very kind and friendly and very nice but she’s a no nonsense kind of person. My most useful appointments are when I’ve thought ahead about how to describe how I’m doing in a factual way and what I need to update her on. I used to see someone else and prefer
