Dr. Sweeney is the best Internist I have ever had. Although she does not accept any kind of insurance, her fees are worth the money because she treats my family and me as she'd treat her own family -- giving caring and clear guidance, and interpreting medical tests conservatively, often with a wait-and-see approach that pays off. Other doctors we have had are ruled by the numbers on lab reports, flying into "specialist referral" mode with the slightest provocation. The worry and expense that approach involves ends up costing way more than Dr. Sweeney's fee -- and the specialist visits so often end up finding nothing wrong. Dr. Sweeney does react quickly and very knowledgeably when a real problem arises. She's simply The Best!

Dr. Sweeney is one in a million. The best! Smart, caring, easy to converse with and always easy to get a hold of in necessary. I have already referred a few friends to her and they say the same things.

Dr. Sweeney is magnificent. I had a physical with her and was amazed at how thorough and communicative she is. She talks with you like she is your friend. She is very caring and treats you with the utmost respect. You can tell she has a brilliant mind and she knows her medicine and comes across as very confident. I have finally found the right doctor! Office staff is wonderful as well. She is an out-of-network provider for me but I would much rather spend the money to get great care. It doesn't get better than Dr. Sweeney and her office.

Mara Sweeney is truly a great find in this world of managed care. She is personable, caring intelegent and cares about people. My wife and I both couldn't say enough good things about her. It's seems strange to me now that I used to dred going to the Dr.

I agree with the previous posts. Dr. Sweeney is very caring and listens to everything you have to say. She obviously is a very compassionate and intelligent physician. If you are looking for a family physician that practices medicine the way it should be, ie taking the time to listen and looking at the whole person, you will love her.

My wife went to the same doctor and we agree with the previous post. This doctor practices medicine like it should be: with compassion and respect for the patient. Now I know what great healthcare should be and poor healthcare that I have experienced in the past. She is truly a great doctor and I will be going to her myself.

Dr. Sweeney is currently only contracted with Cottage Employee Health and Medicare. I have a blue cross PPO but chose the non-PPO high copay to see her because of the service and availability. She takes same-day appointments for urgent cases and has spent an hour with me try and help me. She cares, she respects your knowledge and right as a patient to participate in the decision making process of your care. I pay double my PPO co-pay to see her but it's well worth the money if you take into account that most doc's will only spend 5-10 minutes with you for a $40-$50 copay. I would recommend her to anyone who had an awful experienc with an internist/primary care doctor. She will restore your faith in doctors.
