Very professional. Possible side effects post-op were outlined in detail. My pre-op fears were relieved. Quick scheduling; no excessive wait time. Friendly office staff. Kept my husband informed during every stage on the day of surgery.

I cannot believe the great treatment I recieved from Dr. Atkinson. Great work and allayed all of my fears and concerns. Prior comment must have been for a different doctor, certainly not the Dr. Atkinson who treated me.

Very unprofessional and doesn't follow up in patients care in a timely manner

The doctors staff was not helpful in trying to get information or advice concerning conditions after surgery. The staff would not give messages to the doctor. The call service did not get a message to the doctor. Dr. Atkinson was abrupt on the follow up visit and insistent that his follow up visits were always two weeks after the surgery. Then he discovered that there was a drain installed and said "Oh, that explains it". Upon suspecting Jaundice he wanted blood tests immediately. The staff gave incorrect directions to the lab location, then suggested a second lab which was closed when we arrived. We finally found a third lab open and got a blood draw. The next day the staff was very cooperative about finding results or getting the Dr. to return a call. Dr. Atkinson may be a good surgeon (the jury is still out) however he has no bedside manner and appears over scheduled with no time to speak with patients. He suggested that good staff is hard to find.
