I had my gall bladder removed by Dr Comstock not to say he did a bad job because he did remove it but his after care was the worst I have ever had , after 6months post op I have chronic sever pain I have been treated at the pain center now for 3 months with uncontrollable pain . I believe it is from nerve damage from the surgery. Every time I called Dr Comstock office for an appointment for help with the pain I was refured to the hospital he even put in his report that it was shingles I have since lost a lot of weight and suffer with constant non stop pain even under the care of the pain center. If I had to have surgery again it would be a hard NO on Comstock …

I had emergency surgery for gallbladder and doctor Comstock was my surgeon. He did a great job on the surgery and also the post op appointment afterwards. He is very thorough and ensures you understand what he is going to do plus answers all the questions you may have. Would recommend to my family.

I have had multiple surgeries done by Dr Comstock and multiple follow up visits at his office over the past 6yrs. After July hernia repair, a drain, aspiration 2x of a seroma formation, I can’t say enough good things about Dr Comstock or his office staff. Dr C is always friendly, yet professional and open about what’s happening, yet reassuring. His staff is friendly and returns calls as need and gets back with me when I have questions for the doctor.

The doctor is a great surgeon but really gave little information on what was happening to me and was to busy to talk to my wife before surgery when I asked him to take the phone and explain what would happen

I admire the thoroughness of the doctor. However he is a general surgeon and therefore ready to get to next patient. Failed to explain anything about the gall bladder. Both at hospital and in office after. Would use again but make him stay put to explain!

I DO NOT recommend the services of Dr. Howard Comstock. If you find yourself in need of emergency surgery and he is assigned to you, I suggest you request a different surgeon. I recently had an emergency surgery and due to the hospital and staff it was one of the worst experiences of my life.
-Nothing about my surgery was discussed prior to, then after doing my own research I found that there was another way the surgery could have been done that may have caused less damage.
-Often times medical students came to convey information and ask questions instead of Dr. Comstock.
-It seemed to me that there was no concern for my well being, I was just a dollar sign.
-During follow up after surgery, I was rushed through the appointment, again almost no communication, and there seemed to be no consideration of my concerns. Again, no explanation of the follow up procedures. I asked questions but only received single word answers.
