This was the best decision i could have made. From beginning to end this office and Dr. Blackstone was very helpful. I attended Dr. Blackstone's seminar where she was very upfront about the procedure and I felt like when I left I had very good and correct information. The whole process was smooth and I always felt my questions were answered. The care I received was top notch. The wait time was a little long and it would have been nice to see Dr. Blackstone herself more after my surgery. Still I have no major complaints and feel I had top notch care.

Dr.Blackstone has taken on too many patients. After losing a surgeon in her office, she is continuing to do more bariatric surgeries without regard to her other patient who are unable to receive care from her. The last time I saw her was when she left the OR after my gastric banding. I waited 3 1/2 hours for my pre-op appointment. She is never available even when there is a complaint or problem. After paying thousands of dollars my care is being rendered by nurse practioners while she spends her time making hand over fist doing more surgery even though she cannot provide follow up care.

This is one of the world's worst physicians. My mom had her surgery in 2004, when it was pretty new. This imbecile continued to tell my mom that the pain in her abdomen and lower intestine was "in her head". Turns out (after going to E.R.) She had a blood clot and was minutes from dying. They also found that she had bowel obstruction and after doing surgery to remove the scar tissue they revealed that the prior dr (i.e. Blackstone) didn't even have the decency to put her internal organs back correctly so some of them were forming bonds. Needless to say, my mom since leaving blackstone has had nothing but issues and cannot find a doctor to help her as many doctors will not "touch" a bariatric surgery patient. I would never recommend this surgery, not just cuz my mom but because of personal beliefs with weightloss and how it should be treated, but if you go the bariatric surgery route avoid this dr at ALL costs!

I had my surgery through Dr. Blackstone's practice. The doctors are very very knowledgable and have done many surgeries. They have a great pre- and post-op program that really makes it easy to be successful. My complaint however, is with their office staff. It's almost impossible to get through on the phone, it takes days to get email responses back, and they are obviously overworked. They must really need to hire more support staff. The staff is quality, just too busy. Also, I'd say the average wait for an appointment is about a half an hour. That isn't a huge problem, just something to consider, they don't run on time.

What a wonderful experience. Dr. Blackstone is one of the best. Having bariatric surgery should not be an easy decision - and she and her staff lay it on the line both positive and negative. The surgery totally changed my life. Each day is a blessing and a challenge.
