I came to this doctor with big infection in the throat and ear. I have never been that sick, high fever, nose bleeding and plus eye infection. Visit with him was quick 5 min, no blood test, no check up, like nothing happen. I suggested a swap, he send me home with no pills. I came back after couple of days they did not want to help, I said I will die I am that sick. They gave me penicillin. This is again couple of days I am taking and my infection is going worse. Today morning I went to another doctor. What a difference! He looked inside my ear and throat and he said your ear was totally swollen inside. He gave me different pills and said come for check up. Plus Dr. Holder had a dog in the office! What is somebody is allergic. Horrible experience!

This doctor was already found guilty by the CPSA and a disciplinary action was taken against him for engaging in sexual relation with his patient. the link to the Discipline Report: http://www.cpsa.ab.ca/complaints/attachments_discipline/m99_Jan_2003.pdf

I'm looking for a new doctor. Dr. Holder has never spent more than 5 minutes with me and seems to be out for a quick fix. He told me to go back to work 5 days after my surgery, when the surgeon recommended 6 weeks so the internal stitching could heal. When I asked him why he said 5 days, he commented that he didn't look at the chart closely. When I commented that I was feeling tired, he told me to take "some" iron and didn't proceed to investigate further.

having been fortunate enough to find not one, but four family physicians in this city (one changed practice from a GP to specialized, one retired, one who is inconviently located in a different quadrant) to Dr. Holder today. Fantastic Dr. and while some may not get his bedside manner, I find him extremely witty and causual putting a "white coat syndrom" sufferer at ease. My children, my husband, my step children as well as myself have been very fortunate and lucky to have a wonderful physician like Dr. Holder caring for us. Dr. Holder has always been thorough, accomodating and when not available, there is always somebody else in his office that is. Thank you Dr. Holder for choosing this profession.

I love him as my doctor. He has always been on time for my appointments. I have been very sick as of late, and he has ordered as many tests as humanly possible, not to mention, he seems very sincerely concerned. He is friendly, and always remembers what we talked about previously. It is always easy to get appointments with him as well. My response to the people who complain about the wait-I think that's just the walk-in portion, I've never once waited with him. Would sincerely recommend him.

Waited a while like everyone else for a 3 min consult. Dr. Holder is a smart man but his bedside manner is lacking to say the least. Not sure if he's to blame or the poorly funded system. Anyway, wouldn't recommend him to a friend.

1] Waited for an hour on three occasions. 2] Seating area is pathetic and cramped ~ worst clinic I have ever been to. 3] Rushed through on all counts 4] Bed side manner very poor 5] Makes me want to support paid for service health care. 6] Holder seems very bright and knowledgable ~ leaves the impression that he does not like to practice medicine.

Has been our family dcotor for about a year. Love the office staff (partiucularily one of the receptionists) but hate the verrrrrrrry long wwait. Even with an appointment we usually wait at least an hour. We try to go on Thursday nights so we don't have to take time off owrk but by the time we get into see him our toddler is usually very tired and cranky. Appointments are short but usually cover all the bases. Doesn't always go as in-depth as I would like. I had a problem with nausea on a regular basis (when I'm not pregnant) and take Zantac to keep it under contol. He told me to keep taking Zantac if it works but was not interested in ordering tests to properly diagnose my condition.

Dr. Holder has always been very caring, helpful and knowledgable. I never feel rushed, he really listens to my complaints and my opinions. He takes his time and does thorough assessments and has always treated my conditions appropriatly. I feel very comfortable with him and have a lot of trust in him. I highly recommend him if you don't mind a bit of a wait in the waiting room before hand.
