As a child Dr Hayes contributed to my misdiagnosis of FASD. I do not have have any markers and have had two doctors dispute this. Not only did she over drug me on Ritalin, dexadrine, risperidone, and other medication she missed that as children in family foster care severe abuse. She encouraged my foster grandmother's delusional beliefs that we were sick and allowed her to have maunchhousen byproxy.
I was not the only child she did this too and created large amounts of trauma in several family lives.
Last year I called for my records which no longer exist and was told they are sealed.
She should lose her licence, and should realize the damage and hurt she caused.
From the reviews she preyed on margenlized communities, foster care, and families that may not have knowledge. This hurts the Prince George community and is predatory.

If you have an indigenous child then I would not recommend this doctor at all!!! Not only did she suspect my son of FASD even though he was planned and I don't drink alcohol, she threatened to call MCFD if I didn't provide her with a urine sample after my child's birth because she thought that it was strange that I still had my Tylenol 3's I was prescribe after my cesarean 5 days prior. Why would I still have them if I was abusing them???
Needless to say, I gave her the sample and asked for a new doctor.

An absolutely horrible human being to make such detrimental diagnosis in less than 10 minutes time spent with child. Would not give us any opportunity to speak or give history. Our experience with her, and most importantly, our child’s experience, caused even more damage than if we had never seen her. Kept us waiting behind a reasonable amount of time with no explanation or apology. We have never experienced such a rude, entitled, unprofessional doctor before or since. Stay away. Stay very far away.

Wouldn't deal with her again made my childhood a living h+ll on four different meds before I was 14, she tore my family apart and branded me a "problem child" so my father had no choice but to give me up to foster care destroyed everything I had. But I was a problem child who didn't sit still for his teachers

I have dealt with Dr.Hay for over 20 year She has been a god sent to our family. With Foster children and our own children. Dr. Hay is very thorough and competent in her field of work. In regards to being a bit blunt I am glad she does not sugar coat anything but tells you like it is. She will give you different scenarios of what it could be then you do testing to rule out items. This is a fabulous Doctor who cares for the families and the children.

Would highly discourage seeing this doctor. She doesn't listen to you as a parent and diagnoses without doing any kind of testing. My child was put on Ritalin based on a children's book she had me read called "every dog has ADHD". Doesn't seem like a great way to diagnose a 5 year old but when you disagree she throws around words like medical neglect.

Staff: receptionist is very kind and she is very knowledgeable on how you can push a certain waitlist faster, my son had to get an mri at bcch and the waitlist was crazy, we listened to her and it was half the time.
Punctuality: sometimes it is a bit of a wait in the waiting room but it is because Dr. Hay is very thorough that sometimes your appointment can go over but it isn't a crazy wait time.
Helpfulness: my son was diagnosed with autism and she was very helpful toward us as parents to know what we can do for him. When you child is diagnosed with autism, as a parent you often think about what did you do wrong as a parent,? What could I have done differently? And you usually blame yourself and point at certain events that could have been the cause. She was amazing to help me as a parent to cope with the diagnosis and she was very kind a gentle. Often telling me how great of a parent I am with him to constantly be able to push for his rights, be his voice and always taking him to appointments and therapy every single day.
Knowledgeable: She surprised me of the knowledge about autism she has. My son also is having other medical issues besides the autism and she is there to give us the correct diagnosis and she isn't quick on writing that prescription and would rather educate me on the medication before she gives me the prescription so I am comfortable before using any drugs.

She has very poor bedside manner and is very rude. I will not deal with her again unless I absolutely have to!
