This lady needs to retire. You cannot ask a question without her getting defensive. And if you try to clarify something she has said she takes it as you are challenging her authority. She is very passive aggressive and often comments "Oh, is that how it works!" if you are trying discuss alternatives. She prefers to do all the talking.

I've seen Dr. Scott for years, and simply can't say enough good about her.

I've had my bad luck with family doctors. But Dr Scott goes above and beyond for her patients. She's very soft spoken and beyond knowledgeable, listens to your concerns and gets down to the bottom of it. Happy to say she's my new family doctor.

I will not be returning to Sheila after my visit today. She has been my GP for probably 30 years. I turned 50 this year and went in for a physical. During today's visit, she didn't mention anything about getting a mammogram, symptoms of peri menopause or any issues a woman my age might consider important. Over the years I have listened to her tell me more about other patients issues than my own. She only talks about she wants to talk about and rarely lets you get a word in. My visit a month ago was all about how disrespected Doctors are treated by the gov't. I am sorry if the gov't hasn't given you the salary you are looking for but neither does my employer. Today she went on about sugar in our diets. I have gained over 10lbs since 2006. That's over 15 years. I am a former nutritionist who worked for AHS for many years. I am well aware that I eat more and work out less than I used to. I think about what I need to do to lose weight on a daily basis but just haven't put my thoughts into action. Her sugar talk made me even less motivated. My diet contains very little processed foods and very small amounts of sugar in any form. She told me exercise has nothing to do with it and it's all about sugar. Oh and also according to her your metabolism does not slow with age and it isn't harder to lose weight as you get older. Nope it's all about sugar. And would I like to come back in a week and weigh myself again? I stuck with her for many years because of the ups and downs of finding a decent GP in Calgary but I would prefer no health care to that.

As a physician patient of Dr. Scott, I can attest that she is the sort of family practitioner I strive to emulate. She is knowledgeable, validates patient concerns and perspectives, and has always offered thorough explanations appropriate to my degree of medical literacy (since well before I was ever in medicine). I have happily referred family members to her, who have endorsed equally positive experiences. It can be challenging to keep to a tight schedule in a family practice - particularly true when one readily embraces extremely medically/psychosocially complex patients like myself - but despite this she manages to run largely on time. I do feel that others here would judge less harshly re: time management with greater context as to some of the patients she supports. In addition, her front desk staff are always an absolute joy to interact with!

Sheila medicates first. Drugs will be the first solution to ANY problem instead of investigating a root cause. It’s a reactive approach to treat symptoms only, which can leave you on drugs indefinitely. I found that she hardly listens to what I’m saying and immediately starts writing a prescription within seconds of me opening my mouth. Expect rude front desk staff and long wait times (45min+ with an appointment). I’ve heard that in Canada, doctors get paid for how many patients they see, which I presume to be the case at this clinic. It’s too many in a day, and it makes the care and bedside manner suffer as a result. On the plus side, she’s a lovely lady.

Been going for many years, very thankful to be able to see her, extremely knowledgable and genuinely cares about her patients. As with another reviewer I will be very sad when she decides to retire, and would be shocked to find someone else even close to the same level. An easy 10/10. Thank you Dr. Scott.

Sheila Scott has been my doctor for decades and I do not look forward to the day she retires, as I cannot imagine finding another doctor so caring, compassionate, and such a good fit for me. She has looked after both my physical and mental health needs (I may still be here because of her!).
She is an amazing doctor - during one of my annual (normally) uneventful checkups, the moment she laid a hand on me, she knew I had a mass in my abdomen. It was a large ovarian cyst - benign thank goodness - and I was absolutely terrified of ovarian cancer but Dr. Scott was calm, knowledgeable and empathetic. With her assistance I visited a fantastic gynaecologist and was in no time back to being my usual healthy and fairly well-adjusted self.
The members of Dr. Scott’s team are also wonderful - I always feel welcomed and am treated like an old friend in the office.
