Dr. Wendy Lam is an incredible oncologist for my mother, whose health was rapidly declining towards the end of last year. Since beginning her cancer treatments under Dr. Lam's care, my mother's condition has stabilized, allowing her to resume activities she enjoys, like dining out with family and friends and spending time with her granddaughters. When seeing Dr. Lam at appointments, it doesn't feel like just a quick check up and prescription pick up. Dr. Lam takes the time to talk to my mother, offers encouragement and genuinely shows excitement over a good bloodwork result. If there is a silver lining in this ordeal, it is that there are wonderful doctors like Dr. Lam treating my mom through these difficult times.

Horrible experience with Dr Lam. Very forgetful. Gave me a diagnosis and sent me for a spleen ultrasound. Next visit she gave me the same diagnosis and told me i need an ultrasound. I told her i already did it and she didn't remember or have the results. She was eating during two of our appointments. After pandemic I went back for an in person appointment and she asked if this was the first time we met? I finally have a new Doctor. He gave me more information in one visit than I had from five appointments with Dr Lam. I had zero confidence in her. Hopefully she pays more attention to patients who are super sick.

No compassion for life. No bedside manner. When she's put under pressure she advises she's busy with other patients and avoids questions. She's lazy and your recommendations don't count because she doesn't want to do the paperwork. Hey Fraser Health she's there for a paycheque not people's lives. Find someone with empathy and put people first!

I have only had one visit with Dr. Wendy Lam so far and the experience was good. She thoroughly questioned me on symptoms and after an extensive questioning. She decided we were cut to the chase and go for a bone marrow biopsy. I appreciated the directness

Worse doctor ever, no bedside manner. Only seen me once and said everything is okay with my condition and to live without treatment.

Worst doctor I have ever come across. She is rude, doesn’t respect her appointments nor patients. She should be fired and license revoked as she has zero knowledge about patient care and I never want others to fall into the trap of actually having to deal with her. Terrible human being.

Dr. Lam is an amazing Oncologist at Burnaby Hospital. In my experience with her she has been extremely caring and helpful. I credit her with saving my Kidney function prior to Chemotherapy. She is one of the best.

It’s a shame that Dr. Wendy Lam is still treating her patients so terribly. My brother was diagnosed with cancer and she was the worst part of the experience in his side. My brother was only 24 years old when she told us, he and my mum almost fainted when they heard the news. My sister was pregnant and asked for some water from the doctor to give to my brother to calm him down. She didn’t get up from her chair, was eating her snack DURING this time, and told my sister where the water fountain was for her to get it herself. My brother told us if he had to see this doctor again, it will be what will kill him. So we left this hospital because of this doctor. My brother died less than 2 years later, so thank you for making what was already the most difficult experience in his life and our lives so much worse because compassion and helping your patients was just too hard for you. You don’t deserve to work in Oncology, this is a time that is just too painful for people and you don’t know how to empathise even just a doctor communicating kindly to her patients, you cannot do.

Worst doctor ever. She tries to dismiss my mother within few minutes. Does not answer any questions, does not listen and does not even try to figure out what's going on. She has no emotion, and no empathy. It seems like she's in it just for the money. Does not deserve to be an oncologist.
