Dr Taylor was wonderful. But I found I never got calls back from his office when I called and left a message or talked directly with his assistant Heather

During COVID I was referred to Dr.Taylor!
I had never met him, but we do discussed treatment plan and surgery over the phone.
On surgery day, he was absolutely amazing, even personally walked me to the OR, and was so kind during the entire process !!
Post care he followed up in person, I called his office a few times and he personally called me back!
If you’re as lucky to have him, I highly recommend he is the best you’re gunna get— and his nurse Heather is top notch!

Everything you hope for in a doctor - the kind you see on tv - that cares, is friendly and most importantly, an excellent surgeon. I can't recommend that a person develop a hernia, but if you do Dr. Taylor is "the guy".

Rate 5 star for my inguinal hernia surgery... the staff and the Doctor himself is very polite and caring. Thanks alot from your last week patient. Personally thanks from Clifford A... doing great so far. Excellent... great job, not much constipation for me... I was worried about the pain cause and constipation people described on internet but this team is great... minimal to no constipation... given T3 for pain but only needed 2 after surgery... minimal constipation.

I can not say enough good things about Dr Taylor. I was very nervous before my inguinal hernia repair but Dr Taylor reassured me that I was in great hands and he was not wrong. He is very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to make his patients feel comfortable. I would rate him much higher than 5 stars if it was possible. I highly recommend Dr Taylor as a surgeon!

I recently had Laproscopic inguinal hernia repair done by dr Hugh Taylor, to be quick to the point, ive never been put under or had any type of surgery and let me just say that this man made me feel safe and kept reassuring me that he’d take care of me, and that he did! I am now in recovery which is quite painful but overall he is a fantastic surgeon that really knows how to keep you calm and collective!! I’d rate him a 10
Out of 5 stars if I could!

This was my first surgery. I also have EXTREME anxiety. I am a 44-year old female and was referred to Dr. Taylor for a Laparoscopic right adrenalectomy. The moment I had my first meeting (consultation) with Dr. Taylor, I instantly knew I was referred to him for a reason. Due to Covid, we met over Zoom. I was a ball of nerves in advance of this meeting. Meeting with a stranger over Zoom is awkward in itself – discussing my body with a stranger; even more awkward. Well, he gave me instant good vibes and let me tell you, half way through, I almost wanted to crack a bottle of wine and just talk about life with the man. He put me at such ease and gave me such reassurance that I even became teary-eyed. Dealing with his assistant, Heather was easy peasy and super efficient. I was never left wondering what was going on. The only thing to worry about was WHEN the surgery would take place. Again, due to Covid, I didn’t really have my hopes up that it would happen any time soon. I do keep up with the news. Every time I would hear about the cases of backlogs, my heart would sink. Lo and behold, I was shovelling on Sunday, January 16th and received a phone call from the man himself – Dr. Taylor. He personally called me to ask if I could make myself available for surgery the upcoming Tuesday. A resounding yes ensued and it was off to prepare for the races. I am super fortunate to have an incredible support system, boss and team. Everything aligned itself seamlessly. The great part is I didn’t have much time to worry, stress or think about it. It all happened so fast. My surgery was scheduled for 11:00am Tuesday morning. I arrived to St. Boniface hospital completely anxious. I was alone and internally, I was a mess. I was in total flight mode. The team came to see me and I became more at ease with each introduction/conversation. When I was wheeled into the OR Theatre, The Tragically Hip was playing on the sound system. I mean….COME.ONnnnn!!!! I believe I may have served up some fake drinks and asked Dr. Taylor to whisper Cabinet Shuffle announcements as they occurred. He was the last set of eyes I remember looking into when I went under. Reassuring eyes. ((I’m aware this sounds over dramatic but it is the truth) When one lives and deals with anxiety due to past traumas, you’re biggest desire is to feel safe. And I can tell you, I felt one million percent safe.) I don’t really remember much about waking up – other than I was SO stoked that I didn’t have a catheter! (It was the first thing I checked!) Dr. Taylor came to check on me the next day and I was SO excited to have a visitor!! The man himself yet!! My room was a sauna – it was hot like Cuba minus the beach and drinks….and he even covered the vents. A surgeon covering vents. Imagine that! This is crazy long already. I could write so much more. I am SO grateful for the care I received. I was discharged from the hospital 2 days later. It has officially been a week and I actually stopped taking any sort of pain medication a few days ago. My gunshot wounds aka incisions look great. Above all else, I am just so excited to see how I feel once all the t’s are crossed and the i’s are dotted. The care from Dr. Taylor, his team, all the nurses and staff – including my own team – has been absolutely incredible. These are truly our unsung heroes.

Dr. Taylor is one of the best surgeons. He has helped my mother and father over the years with many of their medical conditions and his surgical expertise and bedside manner as well as follow up are to be commended. He has never left our famiy down.
Years of experience coupled by his caring manner placing the patient at ease is a combination that is rarely found these days .
