Dr Jenken seen me in May and operated in September. What can I say he is wonderful, a great listener answers all your questions, has a great sense of humour and best of all no BS. No sugarcoating. I highly recommend this man. So very glad I found him. Melanie his assistant is great to deal with gets you in as soon as possible. In this day and age with all the rudeness and no time for anyone, it’s an absolute joy to know that there are still people like Melanie and Dr Jenken.

Dr. Jenken is an excellent surgeon and kind and compassionate. Talked time to listen and to respond to concerns and questions. My husband was diagnosed with colon cancer and received an urgent referral to Dr. Jenken. Six days later my husband underwent surgery. Dr. Jenken is following him up
closely. Melanie in his office is also terrific and very helpful. We were blessed to have landed with Dr. Jenken. Thank you Dr. Jenken!!!!

Dr. Jenken, his assistant and the day surgery staff at Rockyview all excellent! 15min initial appointment, surgery scheduled, 1 month wait , day surgery, 2 week recovery, got my quality of life back. Hemorrhoidectomy

I have had Dr Jenken for surgery a couple times. He is so amazing with his compassion, kindness, understanding and bedside manner. I went to him with my concerns and has helped me improve my quality of life. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. His assistant Melanie is absolutely amazing. Great team

On March 3/2020 I had been waiting 9 months for bowel surgery. (another surgeon) Dr. Jenkens hospitalized me the day after our visit. He helped me gain weight and strength, he then preformed re-constituting bowel surgery. Everything went very well. We are so grateful for his excellent care. He is an expert surgeon and a compassionate man. With what is going on in the world today, my family can worry less, thanks to him. Big thank you to Melanie his assistant too.

At 10:45 am on Friday Jan 10, 2020 my doctor diagnosed appendicitis that had kept me awake all night. I got to Rockyview Hospital at 12:30 pm and at 9:40 pm I was fortunate to meet my surgeon for my emergency appendectomy, Dr Daryl Jenken. Turned out that my appendix was necrotic. He was an informative, gentle healer both pre-op and the next morning when I woke up. All the reviews are true and if I were ever to need colorectal care I would go to Dr Jenken.

Long story, short... I was in Regina wading through years of beurocrtic, skeezy 'medical professional' garbage. Finally, the janitor mopping the floor after my failed ostemy removal told me to request being sent to Calgary.... I had no idea. I was hooked up with doctor Jenkin for a preliminary meeting. I walk in, he looks me over, looks at my file and says 'look, there are a few things can go wrong' (I had this ostemy for 27 months so my days were numbered on a successful full recovery). I said " look doc, you do the surgery, I'll do the healing". We shook hands and both left the office with full mutual respect. I'm very strong willed so I knew if I were to be successful it would be on me... I just needed that ostemy off. After a long time of trial, error, and learning rebalance the digestive flora I am off Immuran since Sept 1/2014, and more recently off advil and Imodium. Perfect digestion, perfect health, more energy than I've had since my early 20's. I KNOW Dr. Jenkin has the confidence to manage anything he sets his mind to, so if you're looking for someone to get you in the right direction to heal, he's the man!

I was diagnosed with cancer in my colon in Nov/17. I was referred to a different surgeon but was not able to get an appointment for 2 months. I searched out different options and was refered to Dr. Jenken by a friend. He fit me in 3 days after my colonoscopy and was able to schedule surgery to remove my colon one week later. I especially appreciate his factual style. He was crystal clear on my options and the likely outcomes. I did have complications but Dr. Jenken was in the hospital the day I went back into Emerg and came to see me as soon as he was out of surgery. He diagnosed my "leak" immediately and I was back in surgery in a few hours. The "repair" went well and I was back to 99% of my previous lifestyle within a few months. I still see him and Melanie for follow-ups and can't imagine how he is not ranked as the #1 colorectal surgeon in Calgary.
