Dr. Millis is THE expert on hips. He is conscientious, thorough and demands a standard of excellence from his staff that is rarely seen today in medicine. He goes above and beyond to take care of the patient and the family. A blessing.

It has taken me 20 years to write an honest review about this doctor. In 1992 this man butchered my pelvis in a failed surgery. He LIED to me about how many osteotomies he had performed. He was so incompetent that I have been living in so much pain I can barely function. Be aware of this doctor.

Amazing doctor. Super nice and personable. Great bedside manner. Spends time with the patient and answers all questions. Writes letters/reports to the patient/patient's family explaining conditions and giving advice and recommendations. Answers emails within 24 hours. Goes above and beyond!!! If you are ever a patient of Dr. Millis, you will never be pleased with another doctor ever again.

I am 18 years old and I remember seeing Dr. Millis when I was 10, and Dr. Millis told me wasn't sure if I would ever walk again and that I would defiantly would never play football again. I had a vey bad bone cyst in my right hip along with other complications. 8 years later through for 4 hip surgeries I recently committed to play college football. I overcame the odds and I couldn't have done it without Dr. Millis's help. He changed my life. He is in incredible guy. I was able to do the things he said he I wouldn't do. Even though he initially gave me bad news, he fully 100% dedicated himself supported my hard work to get back on the football field. I write this as a senior high school right before national signing day reminiscing about my life and remember Dr.Millis is the reason I am where I am. I would 100% no doubt in my mind recommend him. He does he very best and works very hard for his patients. I am thankful for for what Dr.Millis has done for me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Millis virtually my entire life and I can truly sat there is nobody else like him. Caring, compassionate, he really puts his patients at ease whether its a routine visit or preparing for surgery Dr. Millis always made me feel like everything would be ok. He also has a way of getting patients to want to work to achieve mobility goals. I can't say enough good things about this man. Its rare to hear a patient sat this about a doctor but I truly adore this man.

At the first meeting I was thrilled with his options for correcting my issue. I waited 4 months for a follow up and after the 2nd visit was very diappointed and disillusioned by the appointment. He took the patient that was to be seen after me, before me. When he came in the room, both him and his PA did not want my opinions about my care and showed no empathy when his evaluation and choices brought me to tears. I am VERY happy that I do not have kids that will be seeing him.

Dr. Millis, as others here have commented, is one in a million. He is caring, knowledgeable, and funny. He is also one of the top specialists in the world for certain developmental issues of the child and adult hip- specifically dysplasia. I had my PAO surgery (as an adult) with him and though the recovery is intense, he really made me feel at ease knowing I was with the best. He cares about his patients more than any other doctor I have ever seen. If you email him directly (to his childrends.harvard address) he will email you back within a day- amazing! I wouldn't trust anyone else! Highly recommended.

I flew myself from NC to Boston to see Dr. Millis for the hip pain I'd had for 10 years (misdiagnosed). NOT ONLY IS HE WONDERFUL in general (funny, but respectful) but he is a GREAT TEACHER, who helped me to understand what was wrong and why; something 10 other surgeons hadn't done!!! I had to pay out of pocket, but it was worth it. Now, I can have surgery with confidence... knowing I've had the "best" look at me and determine which way to go. My condition is hereditary, and I will take my 3 young children to see him as soon as my surgeries are finished. I hope he is training lots of others. I hope he makes millions per year, because he is worth it. I hope you can get in to see him. I found his staff, well, you have to be steadfast in your effort to get an appointment, but if your issue is complex, please see Dr. Millis. He's worth the wait and $, even if your insurance won't cover him.

Dr. Michael Millis is wonderful!! He is kind, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. His sense of humor put my son at ease. He is very concerned about his patient's comfort and pain. He is in high demand so expect to wait but you will not be disappointed. He is a gem!!
