Laughed at me when I was describing something about a skin reaction. Suggested i had a mental health issue, not a bacterial infection. Didn't examine . Didn't actually listen, either. No recommendations for future care. Dismissive, belittling. Terrible. Used Google to diagnose. Offered liquid ice to treat.

Dr Kruger was incredibly dismissive of my issue.
He told me he couldn't help me with my hair loss (telogen affluviance) beyond recommending that I stay on Rogaine indefinitely. He couldn't even tell me if my hair loss improved between visits due to insufficient documentation on his part at my last visit. Getting a re-referral was an absolute waste of my time. Find a different derm for covid-related hair loss because he has no knowledge to share on that issue.

So disappointed in our visit. My son has weird spots all over his body, so we brought him to out GP. After extensive looking, our GP wasn't sure what it was, so sent us to Dr. Kruger. Staff were nice... that was about it.
The spits had faded a bit because of sun exposure and I explained that. I showed him areas the spots were located and from about 4 feet away he said "I can't see them". Well duh, hard to see when the lighting sucks and you aren't even looking.
He asks me if it's "some name for a skin condition" I tell him that's why we are here, we have no idea.
He googles some pictures and asks if it looks like this or this at its worse (again, he never even examined my kid).... so I say yes or no.
He says it could be this or this, but I can diagnose without seeing the spots.... Holy cow, I'm so unimpressed now - LOOK at my kid and you can see them... doesn't look. Tells me I have to come back when he can see the spots.
Waste of time, gas, and pulling my kid from school.
Doc doesn't care, I wonder if he is more info cosmetic stuff...

This office has some sort of ridiculous policy of kicking you off their system and making you get another referral if you haven’t seen him in 3 months?!? Based on what I’ve seen at his office and the information on his website, this policy serves to make room for his clients who are getting their face pumped full of Botox and chemical peeled… medical referrals are clearly not their priority..

Seemed nice and capable enough but overall a negative experience because after two treatments said I needed further treatment but needed to "renew my referral" to continue being treated. I pointed out it took a lot of time to get the referral in the first place as I don't have a family doctor but they didn't care and instead suggested I try a notably worse "at home treatment" option in the meantime.

My take away is that Kruger knows his stuff but cares more about money than his patients. It doesn't mean you'll have a bad experience, but it is something to keep in mind.

Professional, personable, organized, appropriate sympathy for my situation, medication to relieve my symptoms prescribed while we waiting for investigations to be complete. Follow up appointment made. Staff do their job. At times I find it challenging to understand what Dr. Kruger says due to his accent with a mask covering his face, so ask for repetition and that is clearly given.

He has terrible bedside manner and delivers diagnosis with a complete lack of empathy. seen him 3 times and each time the amount of effort he put into the appointment was minimal at best. I found him rude and his answers to questions brief and uninformative. seems more interested in scheduling the next appointment.

He gave me contradictory advice on the same abnormal moles on two back-to-back visits. On the second of three visits, he happened to have a medical student interning with him who did a better job than he did. When I went back to get a mole removed, he couldn't remember which mole it was that needed to be removed. He hadn't left notes, either. There are no other options in Victoria, otherwise I wouldn't see him again.

Over the 3 years I have seen him, the time he takes and the effort he makes has diminished very noticeably. He appears to want to do as little as possible, as fast as possible and get on to earning the next fee, always asking you to return for another appointment in 6 months. Fortunately I have now been accepted by a much more engaged and caring dermatologist.
