Can't hear him speak. Talks way to silent.. Had an attitude problem in helping me! Office staff was horrible, not friendly at all! Nurse practitioners don't seem to be up to speed on my condition and quite frankly I hate and dread going there every 2 months!

First of all, I have never before done a review of a doctor, but I owe a great deal to Dr. McFadden's skill and knowledge. As a female in my early sixties, I have seen more doctors than I can count throughout the country during the last fifteen years in an attempt to find someone who could help me. I have seen neuro and orthopedic surgeons at Mayo Clinic, IU Medical Center, and elsewhere. I have had every type of treatment imaginable from epidural injections, acupuncture, a stretching machine, physical therapy, psychotherapy, TENS unit, and an implanted morphine pain pump. The list of pain meds I've taken is extensive from dilaudid, morphine, pain patches, to fentanyl suckers on a stick which gave me over twenty cavities because no one informed me how much sugar was in them.
No neuro or orthopedic surgeon I saw would recommend surgery for my back due to the multiple problems ranging from the normal, like stenosis to the more complex, including scoliosis, many pinched nerves, and degenerative discs at every level from L 3-4 down to the end of my spinal column. Most surgeons gave me the same prognosis-- that there was a very great chance I would be worse off after surgery than I was before once I healed.

Dr. McFadden recommended that I go to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and see a orthopedic surgeon there, who also happens to be a neurologist. He said they were doing innovative things there, and my surgery could be successful. Now, a couple of months following the extensive eight-hour surgery, more than a week in the hospital, and over two weeks at a rehab center there, I can truthfully say it was the best advice I've ever been given by any doctor. I have a long way to go before I'm healed, but I can already tell the results are going to be positive. I was truthfully told by my surgeon that he could not fix every little thing that was wrong with my back, but he knew that my pain could be greatly reduced by what he planned to do. I appreciated his honesty and trusted his reputation.

If not for Dr. McFadden being up to date on innovative methods in orthopedic and neurological surgery, I would probably still be searching for an answer.

First off the staff was very friendly and answered the many questions I had. Dr. Mcfadden helped me out so much. He took his time to explain everything to me and I am getting therapy at Orthopaedic Assocites and just about fully healed ahead of schedule.
