I never thought I would review a Dr., but I feel the need to warn people about Dr. McNeal. While she was very kind, she was very unskilled and absolutely unhelpful. I had surgery that should have taken just a few weeks to heal, but with her it took more than a year and I ended up going to another Dr in the end. She always seemed confused and didn't know how to treat me, and I left every office visit in tears because I was young (19) and not healing like I should because of her. She dissuaded me from getting additional surgery by telling me horror stories and how much pain I would be in, but when I finally went to another Dr. and got the surgery I needed it was no big deal. I wasted over a year of my life being treated by her. This was a minor surgery and should not have been such a huge ordeal, but she was awful and made my life miserable. I hope nobody ever has the experiences I did. Please do not go to her.

When my other doctor used the Da Vinci robot for my surgery, I had unexplained internal bleeding afterward, and my doctor had to call in Dr. McNeal for a 2nd emergency surgery to find the cause. Dr. McNeal was the only doctor I felt comfortable with. She was the only doctor to thorougly explain everything that happened...she explained how the Da Vinci robot works as opposed to regular surgery...she even drew pictures on the dry erase board in my hospital room as she was explaining! During my 9 day stay at the hospital, I had ALOT of doctors come and go. Because there were so many of them, they all screwed up my paperwork putting incorrect information and most of them were too busy and in a rush to answer my questions. Some other jerk male surgeon quickly yanked my wound dressing off and didn't stop when I told him I was in pain. Dr. McNeal was the only one who listened, didn't cut me off when I was talking, and completely answered my questions. I would recommend her to everyone.

I first met Dr. McNeal when the ER physician called her in because I needed emergency surgery. She was kind, compassionate and very skilled. I found I needed her services again when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Again she performed my surgery and helped me through this difficult time and treated me as she would a family member. She is the best!

Once surgery concluded she was very unresponsive to needs including pain control and later pneumonia post surgery. Discharged too soon post op and had to return to emergency room same day.

I would without a doubt rate Dr McNeal as an excellent doctor. Facing the possibility of cancer and in need of a surgeon, I spent numerous hours meeting/reviewing surgeons and after meeting with Dr McNeal, I knew I found the person to do my surgery. She was very knowledgeable, had great bedside manners and took the fear of what I was facing away. I did do my research and would refer her time and time again to anyone needing a excellent doctor.

Having recently had surgery done by Dr. Mcneal, I was totally impressed with her from the first time I met with her until she performed surgery. She totally walked through what she would be doing and came by to see how I was doing before going in to the operating room. I rate her as excellent!

I have never been as umimpressed by any medical professional as I was by Dr. McNeal. She lacks bedside manner, doesn't employ continuity of care, and does not listen to patients. Her communication skills are nearly non-existent. Everyone needs to choose a doctor that suits their needs. So while the information above is merely my opinion, I highly recommend that people investigate other surgeons before visiting her.
