I would like to add my name to my crticism of Dr. Clarke which I posted on 7/2/08 beginning with the words, "In l998..." I feel that criticism of this kind should not be done anonymously. Truman Green Surrey, BC

In 1998 I wished to discuss the wisdom of using certain medications, particularly beta blockers, (to lower intraocular pressure; mine was 19), as my cardiologist had also recommended a beta blocker for reactive hypertension and I was worried that taking them both at the same time would be harmful. Dr. Clarke cut me off rudely when I tried to initiate this discussion. In 2008 I returned and she again treated me as though my questions were none of my business, and chastised me for going to optometrists to have my vision monitored. When I asked her what treatments were available she refused to answer, only telling me that I was my own "worst enemy" as far as having my vision monitored. Before this visit I had phoned Dr. Clarke's receptionist to ask that she tell Dr. Clarke that I had recently had a very adverse reaction to the chemical that is used to dilate the pupil. Dr. Clarke seemed hostile about this and informed me rudely that "it doesn't matter what you told my assistant."

Dr.Clarke may be very good in her proffession but she is impatient and rushes through her examinations like a robot. She acts like I am wasting her time.Iam a 74 yr old diabetic , have had 2 cataracts removed and have had an eye injury years ago and I think I deserve to be treated with respect and get good care.

My first visit to Dr Clarke wasn't a bunch of fun. It's seems that most doctors run late these days, or are overbooked or both! Packed waiting room, staff was okay, they did their job. But Dr. Clarke is a cold as ice. I wasn't there for a fun time at the pub but she should have introduced herself. Perhaps she isn't sure who she is these days? The medical profession can be extremely taxing and cold (as my visit was) or it can be rewarding and pleasant day at the doctor. (which it was NOT) Obviously these people make very good money and probably earn every loonie but a little smile or some sort of emotion certainly is better than the iceberg that hit the Titanic. Personally I think Dr Clarke is burnt out and should slow down her hours OR pack it in completely. I don't doubt her knowledge for a minute and I did appreciate her professional manner but the messenger could have had a better delivery system. Being a doctor I am sure she realizes that life is too short. Amen.

I did not care for Dr. Clark, I took my 9 year old daughter to her. She didn't greet either one of us when she walked in. She asked my daughter if there was something wrong with her neck (she has a tendency to tilt her head when reading as one eye is stronger than the other)When my daughter said no she said "then keep it straight" That was our 3rd and last visit, I now take her to Dr. Kline. He is amazing with kids, he has pictures and thank you cards everywhere. You can tell he enjoys what he does. Dr. Clark may very well know what she is doing but there is no need for rudeness like that. There are alot of skilled doctors out there, I would suggest to anyone with kids not to go to her. It took my daughter awhile to gain trust in her new doctor after that experience. The wait times were much too long as well.

Curt manner, chose to have several patients at one time. Blunt, not friendly. Diplopia..her answer..Botox, or operation,or glasses. Started to ask question by paraphrasing one of her comments. She immediately cut in by saying'"that is a statement"! "Do you have any questions?!" I was taken aback by this, wanted to get out, said "no". Sunny day and no neutalizing drop medication NOR any warning about sunny day. Will not ever recommend her.Reported her to my GP and to other physician friends and friends. I added this comment June 2005, but this website now doesn't have it. Hmmmmmm.

Dr Clark's staff may be good, but I have never met a more ill-mannered and rude doctor. She didn't even introduce herself when she entered the room - common courtesy that takes 2 seconds (and can even be done at the same time as setting up the equipment!). She talked over me, and interrupted me before I had completed answers to her (very few) questions. She actually walked out of the room to the next patient and closed the door on me as I was half way through a sentence trying, for the fourth or fifth time to ask her about my symptoms. I guessed that that was my cue to leave! I found her to be uninterested in my anxiety, rushing through the 'exam', and she gave me absolutely no advice as to what to do for my daily pain and discomfort. I walked out of there with nothing. Fortunately my family practitioner arranged for an examination by a second doctor - who is now treating me for conjunctivitis and blepharitis and my pain is all but gone

rudest Dr. I have ever come across, abrupt, non caring. Absolutely no people skills. She should be looked into by dept of medicine as to how she treats people. Had no desire to answer questions. Just wanted to get you out of there and on to the next person.

Very curt and dismissive. Not at all approachable and cut off any questions I had. She spent all of 15 minutes with my exam and I have MS and have special vision concerns. I am a nurse and I was shocked and reported my concerns to my GP. I felt sorry for all the elderly patients waiting to see her as they probably have to put up with her rudeness. It was like a factory assembly line in her office.
